It was September, and the weather should have been getting cooler with crisp autumn air. However, the drought continued to worsen. Not a drop of rain fell the entire month. It was as hot as a steamer during the day. If you stood in the sun for two hours, you would be in danger of fainting.
The temperature dropped slightly at night, but mosquitoes disturbed us and we couldn't sleep well.
Not only the northern Hu people, but even the Jin soldiers from the south were not used to such weather.
The guards stood in front of the camp, leaning on their spears with both hands, the blazing sun hanging high above their heads, muttering in their hearts, it's rare to see such a hot weather in September. In such weather, you will sweat even if you don't move. After the daily drills and shifts, you are so tired that you can't even lift your body and fall asleep while standing.
"Guard the camp gate well and don't be lazy!" A sergeant led his team as they walked by. When he saw the drowsy soldiers leaning on their guns, a look of dissatisfaction appeared on his face.
