A fire broke out in Jingzhou, which burned for two days and nights, and more than 10,000 Qifu Xianbei were killed in the fire. Afterwards, the servants and soldiers of the Qin's fortress attacked the city and captured most of Jingzhou.
Because Qifu Xianbei intended to establish his own regime, they drove out and killed the officials sent by Murong Xianbei, which resulted in poor communication between the prefectures and counties. It was not until several days after the incident that the nearby Yuzhou garrison heard the news and hurriedly sent people to investigate.
It was the middle of winter and the team encountered rain and snow on the way, delaying their crossing for several days.
By then, the fire had long been extinguished and the camp was in ruins.
The fallen bones had long since turned to ashes, buried by the snow and mud. The tents and fodder had all been set on fire, cracking and shattering at the slightest touch, turning into gray-black smoke that drifted away with the north wind.
