Zhixuan buried his head in his arms again, his huge body trembling, as if he was enduring something, but he did not raise his head again. As arrogant as Zhixuan was, this was probably the first time in his life that he had shrunk his head, just to avoid the questioning of a mere human.
Damon stared blankly at Zhixuan's sharp horn. The fire burning around him was like a natural barrier, isolating them from each other's worlds. Damon felt his body go cold, especially his heart, which seemed to have lost all its temperature in an instant. He clenched his shaking hands and said in a hoarse voice, "Zhixuan, we are done here, right?"
Zhixuan's claws dug several deep grooves in the ground, and the flames made Damon feel as if his skin was being burned.
"If I really become Gonggong, I don't need you to kill me. I will kill myself. It is better to die quickly than to give up my body and soul to others." Damon took a deep breath to ease the pain in his heart. He held back the tears that wanted to escape. After looking at Zhixuan deeply, he turned and left.
Zhi Xuan listened to the footsteps fading away before he raised his head again. His bright golden eyes reflected the pain of crying blood, as if he would completely collapse in the next second.
