First he discovered that the Root's vault had been stolen, then he discovered that his own vault had been stolen, and finally his dream of becoming Hokage was shattered.
Danzo could tolerate the first two, but the more he thought about the last one, the angrier he got.
Danzo lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. All he could think about was the conversation he had with Aaron Sarutobi tonight. The more he thought about it, the more suffocated he felt.
Even when I finally fell asleep, I dreamed of the same scenes, nightmares one after another.
So Danzo came up with the idea of killing Aaron Sarutobi and becoming the Hokage.
