Mason looked at her for a few seconds before turning around and leaving the room.
Ava listened to Mason’s footsteps slowly walking away, and there was the sound of going downstairs. She hurriedly got up from the bed, ran to the bathroom, turned on the hot water, and rushed to the thermometer.
The temperature rose little by little, and Ava looked almost like it, turned off the faucet, and quickly ran back to the bed, covered with a thick quilt.
Mason held a cup of warm water upstairs and handed it to Ava, who looked at him weakly, “I, I can’t get up.”
Mason closed his eyes and sat on the side of the bed. He held her up with Ava’s shoulder with one hand, and gave her the water again.
