"Lin Yang!" Liam cried out when he saw Lin Yang falling straight into the water. He leaned over to pull Lin Yang, but she seemed to have lost consciousness and fell limply, motionless. Liam dragged her to the shore with great effort. He shook her arm anxiously and called her in a low voice. After tossing and turning for a while, Lin Yang still showed no signs of waking up. She seemed to be in great pain, with her brows tightly furrowed and an unnatural blush on her face. Liam raised his hand to touch her forehead, but as soon as he touched it, he withdrew his hand in panic. Lin Yang had a fever for some reason and was now burning hot. Liam was anxious and panicked. She had also had a fever when she first came, but it was Lin Yang who took care of her and she got better. She didn't know which herbs could be used as medicine to treat diseases.

"Lin Yang, Lin Yang, don't sleep... I'll take you home." Liam was so panicked for the first time, her voice trembling with fear. Her mind was blank, she couldn't figure out why Lin Yang had a fever, but an idea kept echoing in her mind. It turned out that she was so useless. She could only watch Lin Yang suffer and couldn't help her at all.

Liam lifted Lin Yang up and carried her on his back, hurrying towards the cliff. They had walked too far today and had not intended to go back. Now the sun was setting and it would not be long before it was completely dark. By then, walking in the deep forest for two children would be like feeding an animal. However, she could not think too much now. Although Liam had been taught to be steady, she was still a little girl who had not experienced any hardship. Once important people were involved, she could not help but feel panic and fear. She wanted only to bring Lin Yang back to their home, where there might be unused herbs she had collected before.

The journey was difficult. Half an hour later, when it got dark, Liam lit a torch and continued walking. Wild beasts were rampant at night, and she dared not call out Lin Yang's name casually. She could only walk quickly with caution around her. She didn't know if they were lucky, or if the torch had a deterrent effect. Until a bright spot appeared in the sky in the early morning, there was not a single wild beast lurking to attack. The cliff where they lived was already in front of them. Liam's thin back was severely hunched, and his chest was breathing like a bellows, making bursts of desperate hissing sounds. Both of them felt uncomfortable that night. They were sweaty and their heartbeats were disordered. Lin Yang did not wake up once, and fell drowsily on Liam's shoulder, and even the breath he exhaled was hot.

The last section of the uphill road had exhausted Liam's remaining strength. In the second half, she almost used both her hands and feet to climb up while carrying the person. By the time she put Lin Yang on the couch, Liam herself was already exhausted. She fell to the ground uncontrollably, gasping for breath. She was determined to save Lin Yang. After barely resting for a while, she climbed to the shelf where Lin Yang stored his sundries and searched through them. However, luck was not on their side this time. Liam searched over and over again, but on the wooden shelf there were only various kinds of strange stones and animal teeth that Lin Yang had picked up in the forest before, but there was no trace of herbs at all.
