Among the festivals in our country, the most solemn and important is of course the Chinese New Year, followed by the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival.

In the eyes of northern country people, the importance of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival are almost equal. However, although these two festivals are important, they are both celebrated a bit hastily. 

Around August 15th, it is the time to harvest corn. Around the Dragon Boat Festival, it is the time to harvest wheat. In this way, the country people feel that they must have a good Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival, and they want to have a good time, but it is difficult to spare their hands to prepare. I often collect crops during the day and carry a basket to visit relatives at night.

Originally, city people didn’t pay much attention to the Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival, at least not as much as the country people. However, the festive atmosphere in the city is getting stronger and stronger now. Not only the Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival in China, but also Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and even Ghost Festival (Halloween) abroad are celebrated in a decent way. 

In fact, this is not because the city people suddenly feel nostalgic or sentimental, but mainly because the city merchants are doing this as a gimmick - they have to find a way to take money out of your pocket! Nowadays, city people who do have some spare money in their pockets are simple-minded and loose-minded. As long as the merchants raise their flags and the newspapers and TVs follow suit, then these festivals will be over!
