The dog's owner was a little girl with twin ponytails. She ran over quickly, grabbed the playful golden retriever, put a leash around its neck, and angrily scolded, "Why are you so disobedient? I can't stop you even if I yell at you. You'll have no food tonight."
"Ouch!"
The golden retriever howled twice in grievance, but stared at John with his wet eyes without blinking.
The little girl stood up holding the golden retriever, with an apologetic look on her face: "I'm sorry, I let it run away without paying attention. I will be more careful next time. I'm really sorry for scaring you."
John certainly didn't have the face to admit that he was frightened by a dog. It was too embarrassing. He kept silent and pushed Jordan. Come on, help him out.
