The earth is made of gravity, and consciousness is made of seeds. If we go one step further from gravity, we can trace back to before the heaven and earth existed, and if we go one step further from seeds, we can trace back to before our parents were born. Then there is only the so-called state of silence, and the two will merge into one. From silence, gravity was born, and then there was the earth, and then there were things. From silence, seeds were born, and then there was consciousness, and then there were people. From this, we know that the structure of the mind is similar to that of the earth, and that physics and human affairs are connected, so the laws of physics can be applied to psychology.
Psychological phenomena are very similar to magnetic and electric phenomena. Humans have seven emotions, which can be roughly divided into two types: like and dislike. The things that the mind likes attract the object and make it near; the things that the mind dislikes push the object away. The phenomenon is the same as magnetic and electric phenomena. The human mind is divided into three parts: knowledge, emotion, and intention. The intention is the combination of knowledge and emotion, and its elements are only knowledge and emotion. Magnetic and electric forces push each other, and opposites attract each other. The effect of pushing and attracting each other is the phenomenon of emotion. It can distinguish between the same and opposite S3xes, and contains the function of knowledge. It can be seen that magnetic and electric forces also have knowledge and emotion, which is the same as our psychology. What positive electricity needs is negative electricity. Suddenly, a positive electricity comes and wants to separate its negative electricity, so of course it pushes it away. What negative electricity needs is positive electricity. Suddenly, a negative electricity comes and wants to separate its positive electricity, so of course it pushes it away. This is like when a child is eating milk and cakes, and sees his brother coming, he pushes him and hits him with his hands, so it becomes a phenomenon of the same S3x pushing each other. As for the attraction between opposite S3xes in magnetic and electric forces, it is just like the love between men and women in human beings, which goes without saying. So when we study psychology, we should treat it as studying magnetism and electricity.
Buddha said: "The true Dharma body of the Buddha reflects objects and shows their shapes." It is just like the phenomenon of magnetic and electric induction. He also said: "The original nature is harmonious and its function is everywhere in the Dharma Realm." He also said: "It is neither existent nor nonexistent." It is just like the phenomenon of magnetic and electric neutralization. He also said: "It is neither born nor destroyed, neither increases nor decreases." It is exactly what physicists say "the power is indestructible." Therefore, we can use the laws of mechanics to examine human nature, and I think it will not be wrong.
〔Figure A〕
Mencius talked about the goodness of human nature, saying: "A child, when young, knows how to love his parents. When he grows up, he knows how to respect his elder brother." I talked about the Thick Black School, saying: "When a child sees cakes in his mother's mouth, he takes them out and puts them in his own mouth. When a child is in his mother's arms eating milk and cakes, and sees his elder brother approaching, he pushes and hits him with his hands." Aren't these two statements extremely opposite? What is the truth of human nature? If we observe carefully, we will know that all the actions of children are based on themselves, and all kinds of phenomena are born out of comparison. Comparing the mother with himself, the child loves himself more, so he takes the cake out of the mother's mouth and puts it in his own mouth. The mother is the one who holds me and feeds me. Comparing the mother with my elder brother, the mother is closer to me, so I love her more. When I grow up, I play with my elder brother day and night. Sometimes when I meet neighbors, I feel that my elder brother is closer to me, so I naturally love my elder brother more. From this, when I go to a foreign land, I love my neighbors; when I go to another province, I love people from my province; when I go to a foreign country, I love people from my country. There is a certain rule in this, which is: "The closer to me, the deeper my love, and love is inversely proportional to the distance." It is similar to Newton's law of universal gravitation. Let's draw it out, as in Figure A. The first circle is me, the second circle is relatives, the third circle is brothers, the fourth circle is neighbors, the fifth circle is people from the same province, the sixth circle is people from the same country, and the seventh circle is foreigners. This diagram is a phenomenon of the human heart. If we study it in detail, we will find that this phenomenon is very similar to the magnetic field in the classroom experiment. The closer to the magnet, the more iron filings there are, which shows that human emotions are similar to magnetic force. From Figure A, we can know that the child I mentioned snatching cakes from his mother's mouth and the love of children for their relatives mentioned by Mencius are originally consistent things, both starting from the word "I". The theory of human nature and the thick black theory can be connected into one.
