The Attempt to Reconciliation Chapter 51

Today Oliver drove Roger to a park a little further away.

The park is on the riverside, branching out from a clear winding river that runs through the park from east to west.

At regular intervals along the river, there is a flight of stairs that lead from the slightly higher human-shaped road to the clear river.

It is now late winter and early spring. The river has long thawed, and the small fish and shrimps have regained their vitality. The elegant water birds are preening their feathers by the river, occasionally stopping to stare at the fish swimming in the water. They accurately and swiftly dive their heads below the water surface, clamp the lively fish, tilt their heads back, and swallow their dinner whole.

Roger trotted lightly.
