The heat was rolling. This was the first time the Huns had seen a huge fire caused by burning corpses.
The desert does not require burning corpses, nor does it cause plague.
The wolves, foxes and vultures in the desert will eat the corpses cleanly, leaving only the bones.
From a distance or near, it looked like a particularly high and large bonfire, which was no different from the flames they usually saw except for its size.
The flames were blazing, and the aroma of the roasted meat was much better than the stench of dry cow dung being burned.
