Julian Tao pulled Caleb Xiao and ran forward. It felt like he had already run half the mountain before he slowly stopped.
Panting and hiding behind a nearby tree, Julian Tao stuck his face out and looked outside.
He held his breath as hard as he could. There was silence all around, not even the sound of wind, nor the tooth-grinding gurgling sound or heavy and slow footsteps.
"It seems I didn't catch up." Julian Tao patted his chest and turned around, "Mr. Xiao, are you okay..."
But as soon as the words came out of his mouth, Julian Tao, like Caleb Xiao beside him, froze on the spot.
