Ethan Meng still slept in the same room as before, and Julian Shen followed him in, saying that he wanted to change a painting.

"What painting should I change?"

Julian Shen pointed to the wall and said, "My mother's painting is one year older. It's time to replace it with a new one."

Ethan Meng watched him open a cabinet on one side, revealing a wooden box. After opening the lid, he saw many scrolls inside. Julian Shen fiddled with it twice and took out one of the scrolls. Ethan Meng helped him take down the painting on the wall.

The newly hung painting depicts a child sitting in the yard with a cat lying on his knees.
