The two children were extremely excited. Finally, David and the airport porter folded the big box and put it in the cargo hold: we would have to use it at the other end.
We arrived at Dublin Airport and the weather was terrible. All I was worried about was the dust and praying it wouldn't rain because we still had to put the dress back into the box. So David held Brooklyn in his arms while the rest of the group packed the dress into the box as best they could, because it was much harder to put something so ruffled in than to take it out. So we all stayed on the tarmac, like a scene from the TV series The Vicar of Dibley. Because of the agreement with "OK!" magazine, we can't let anyone even take a look.
When we arrived at Rattles Castle to see Peregrine, we all breathed a sigh of relief. Although he looks like a noble elf because of his short stature, months of meetings, ideas, and decisions have made me feel that he is more like an uncle with eccentric behavior, someone I can completely rely on. . When I saw that decorative building, I thought it was so amazing that I forgot about everything else. There is a Gothic window, which I had not noticed before because it was so small, and a bridge, which in the past would have had trumpeters standing on it. He did a great job. All the walls have been swept, artificial turf has been laid on the ground and it will be decorated the next day with some dried flowers and fresh flowers from the stream below. He also procured birch trees and placed them in the castle so that the walls and ceiling would be covered with leaves and branches. In fact, it was my idea - I wanted the whole wedding venue to look leafy, so that it would be consistent with the atmosphere of the castle. The trees are covered with colorful little light bulbs. He turned some old branches into an altar.
My wedding bouquet followed the same rustic theme - apples, St John's wild berries, ivy, rosemary and black mold. My bridesmaids were Liberty and Georgina, the youngest daughter of David's sister Linna. They were dressed as elves, carrying ivy and twigs, and wearing wings as thin as cicada wings.
It was an extremely wonderful day. For the first time I had no time to feel nervous. Besides, why should I be nervous? The wedding was safely under Peregrine's charge; and I was about to marry the one I loved most, a person I never thought I could love so much.
