So during these two weeks of free time, was my amazing fiancé spending time with me? No. The British season is over, but there is still a little thing called the "World Cup". We just stayed at Elton John’s house in the South of France for a few days.
I met Elton John at an award show, which happens all the time in the music industry. Elton even made a cameo in our movie. But we don't know each other as friends. It was David who knew him first. A year ago I went to the Versace show in Milan and David was invited to the men's ready-to-wear show and David was sitting in the front row with Elton sitting next to him. David was shy and unobtrusive, and Elton turned to him and told him he had met me, among other things. He told David that he knew how painful it was to be in the spotlight all the time, and that if we wanted to get away from it for a while, we could always go to his villa in the south of France. So when Jace left and David and I happened to have a chance to spend a few days together (David had actually been in Manga, Spain with the England team), we called Elton: "We don't want to be too I'm going to take the liberty, but I wonder if we can accept your last invitation?" He's such a nice guy. That was our first time there.
Elton's villa is simply incredible. I have never seen a house that suited my taste so well. It is located in the center of a park in Nice, with a small town below, so from the villa you can overlook the Mediterranean Sea. The villa is far away from the road and has a tall black electronic door. It's so beautiful---there are even lovely lemon-colored flowers planted in the garden that match the style of the house. The house is filled with amazing displays. of artwork. My favorite are two works by Ellen Jones - two women on hands and knees, wearing boots, holding a mirror to their master. It's no exaggeration to say that if I were to move into Elton's house, I wouldn't even change the bedspread.
meet the prince
Life at Manchester United never ends and pre-season training begins on Monday 13th July. We spent our last weekend in Canada and had to say goodbye.
We didn't see each other again for the next six weeks, which was absolutely terrible. When he left, I hid one of his old shirts and slept in it for the rest of the trip. I would imagine what he was doing before I went to bed. If it's in the same time zone, it's easy. We would both be sleeping and I would know he was thinking about me. But being in a different time zone, he might be doing other things, and he might not be thinking about me, at least not at that moment.
To keep me from having a nervous breakdown, I had a home on the road: the girls, Caelynn, our image designer Kenny, backup dancers Camine and Louis, Richard Jones (now our tour director) ), and of course the band who have been with us since Istanbul and are not only extremely talented but also great people who are easy to get along with. David is so far away from me, so they all help me get rid of my irritable mood.
So, in the good tradition of rock music, let me introduce them to you. Speaking of percussion instruments, I introduce to you Fergus Grande, a top musician who is extremely cute and changes his hair color very frequently.
Next up is drummer Andy Gangadeen. Andy has his own signature image. He often wore baggy skirts over trousers, paired with large boots and a blouse. His special feature was his strange hat and the curly hair sticking out from under it. He has a weird dual personality: very shy yet very stubborn.
Now let us applaud our keyboard player Simon Ellis, who is also our music supervisor. He is indeed very funny, an absolute comedian, always imitating others and making funny sounds.
Let's welcome another keyboard player, Mike Martin, a black man with a very good body. He used to always wear combat uniforms and tights. We called him "Mr. Lover" because he moved his H!ps a lot. He has a great feel for music.
Our lead guitarist Paul Kindler is an outstanding musician who has been in the music industry for many years. Although he doesn't like to interact with people very much, he is very friendly and always has a happy smile on his face.
And finally our bass guitarist, Steve Levinson. He had scary dreadlocks. Very kind and cute personality. During my travels, I often talked endlessly with him.
I called David every chance I got, but it wasn't easy, especially since we were on the West Coast and it was hard to find a place where David and I were awake. And if David went away to play with Manchester United, they wouldn't put me on the phone. This is unbearable to me.
I feel very lonely. When I called home, I'd hear EastEnders in the background and I'd hear my mum say, "Turn the TV down, Chester," and then I'd hear her say, "Turn the TV down, Chester." Put the vegetables off the stove. "I couldn't help but cry after hanging up the phone. All those normal things. I miss them so much. After returning home, I discovered that my sister, who was still a girl when I left, is now the mother of a child. My baby brother has grown a short beard, armpit hair, has a girlfriend, and has his own thoughts. And got to work.
If you had asked me four years ago how important it was to have a view from my hotel room, I would have said I didn't care. Now I spend all day in a hotel room and I can't stand the feeling of confinement. I have to feel free, even if it's as small as watching a sunset or looking at the moon. It was the same moon that David could also see. Whenever I get a chance, I will stand at the window and stare blankly. I've always been claustrophobic and I don't like toilets on trains and planes.
After David left, we also encountered some happy things in the United States. In Minneapolis, more people came backstage to see us, including the band Prince. The "Prince" was sitting in a small booth next to the stage, which was such a surprise. And with him was a guy named Jimmy Jam, a black producer and writer, which was a double surprise. He has been collaborating with Janet Jackson since a long time ago and completed all the songs. I would give anything to work with a songwriter and producer like this. Just like all of us when we meet our heroes, we were all speechless.
"You know," Jimmy broke the ice, "I'm definitely a fan of yours. My wife bought me a 'Hot Girls' T-shirt. Let's get down to business, would you like to collaborate with me?"
I can't believe he said that. In fact, we asked, "Would you like to work with us?" He and his partner Terry Lewis later wrote three songs for our third album. Together they were known as Jem and Lewis.
At this time, the "Prince" sat there, wearing velvet trousers, holding a silver-topped cane between his spread legs. I knew he was short. But in fact, he is not only small, it should be said that he is very, very small. But every inch has the glow of a true superstar. His heels were high, his pointed chin made him look thin, his face was heavily made up, and his hair was curly and well-groomed. I remember he looked like he had just come off the stage, but of course, he didn't. It's us on stage. He said in a low, quiet voice that our show was great. Then there was another silence, until Emma said: "Well, what do we call you, I mean, now that you're no longer 'Prince'?"
He replied: "You can call me 'friend'."
pregnancy test
Just after Jace left, and when people were making a fuss about the head coach leaving Gaza and leaving the England team, the incident of David wearing a sarong skirt happened. There's no way a footballer (who everyone knows is a man of great taste) would choose to wear something so stupid, then it must be me. The tabloids ran their usual headlines: Look who's wearing pants?
In fact, a few weeks ago David went shopping with Jimmy Gulzar and they both bought Jean Paul Gautierseau cage dresses. It was all David's idea. He wore one because he thought it looked good. One night we were going out to dinner and David decided to wear it, just over his trousers - I mean that's what men always wear in Bali. He hasn't worn one since, and after all the flak he's received, who can blame him? But it's a summer evening in Eze, on the French Riviera, and what do you expect him to wear? Three pieces A suit or a football team uniform? Or shorts, white socks, sandals, and beer bellies designed to look like the Union Jack, like the fashion icons who filled the TV screens in Marseille when England played Tunisia on June 15?
How much do I love David? We were in Miami rehearsing the first game of the Americas tour when David called to say that manager Glenn Hoddle was not prepared to play him against Tunisia in Marseille. Tell him -- and the world -- that David is too obsessed with his "hot" girlfriend to risk letting him play football. He was so upset that I hired a plane and flew from Florida to Nice. In fact, we only spent a few hours together and I flew back.
After Jace left, everyone was most concerned about the American tour. Our promoter there threatened to quit. After all, we were promised five "hotties" in the beginning and now there are only four. It all comes down to that first show in Miami.
Actually, we're not that worried --- we've always had confidence in our music and our performances. I'm nervous about the Vikings and our sponsors, but that's understandable.
It’s also a bit discouraging because we’re used to relying on lights in the dark to make the whole performance exciting. But this time we had to perform in an open-air theater, and when we walked on stage, the sun was so bright that you couldn't even open your eyes.
There was tall grass growing under the seats in front of the stage, which reminded me of a grassy hill. As soon as I got there, I realized that it was very much like another place - Blenheim Palace. All that's missing is Berry Manilow and sheep dung. Instead, mosquitoes cling to my wig.
It's extremely hot. They said it was a very hot period, the hottest weather in thousands of years. There were sprinklers all over the area where we ate to cool down. I never liked hot weather - if you were at the beach or next to a swimming pool, that would be fine, but now I feel sick, it's so bad. But I know that the situation will not get better if I rush to France. I can only try my best to do everything well. When I was a child, my grandmother told me that people and animals, men and women use different words to express "sweating". Horses use "sweating", men use "sweating", and women can only use "feeling hot". So, if I "feel heat", it is simply the heat emitted by atomic energy. I was literally sweating. The outfit changes were ridiculously frequent, which was terrible, all the clothes stuck to me and every move made me feel worse. I mean, those polyester fabrics are not linen.
"Don't you think you might be pregnant?" Kailin asked as she touched up my makeup for the first time. I have to touch up my makeup every time I step off the stage.
Pregnant? Unlikely. Firstly, I have PCOS and the hospital told me I couldn't get pregnant on my own, and secondly, David and I barely see each other these days - which someone once told me was a key factor in the whole process. .
"When was your last period?" Kailin asked.
You know what my answer is? I don't know. My periods have never been regular and haven't come for several months. But as Kailin kept asking questions, I felt myself getting more and more nervous and excited. Even though I didn't understand how I could get pregnant, I secretly hoped it was so.
"Let me take a pregnancy test for you," Kailin said. Well, I can't go to Miami and find a drugstore like "Boots" by myself.
Negative. But I still feel uncomfortable. Jet lag is definitely over by now. On June 20, we arrived in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"Maybe it's too early for the pregnancy to show," said Kaylin. "I'll do it again for you."
Kailyn was with us when we were doing TV promotions for "Want" in the early days. I think it was on Sky. I still remember her saying how fun it would be if we met on Top of the Pops one day! Kailyn is the nicest person around, and she knows a lot of things--not just pregnancy. Test---She once published her own science fiction magazine. She is always calm and practical, maybe because before becoming a makeup artist, she once wanted to be a physical education teacher. Think about how different my school life would be if the school I went to had a physical education teacher like Kailin.
