In Fuyuki City, an ordinary hotel.

Kiritsugu Emiya looked around at the door and made sure that no one was following him, then he knocked on the door of Room 703 at a specific rhythm. The door opened quietly, revealing a black-haired beauty with regular features. Kiritsugu Emiya nodded slightly, then walked into the room quietly and closed the door.

In broad daylight, a married man and a young woman were having a secret meeting in a hotel room. If Evan saw it, he would definitely sigh that the world is going downhill.

However, Emiya Kiritsugu obviously didn't care about other people's opinions, nor did he want to do anything happy with the beauty in front of him. After all, the two of them were too familiar with each other, and he knew each other's strengths and weaknesses.

He simply opened the short video that Maiya brought and started watching it.

The video shows the courtyard of the Tohsaka family. Jason easily breaks through the magic barrier set up by the Tohsaka family and comes to the gem core.

The next second, a white light flashed, and the Jason's arm was broken abruptly. The severed arm fell to the ground, spilling a large amount of blood.

Next, there was another flash of white light, and the Jason's head was pierced through and he died on the spot.

Then the golden servant appeared and started his bomb show.

Seeing this scene, Emiya Kiritsugu couldn't help but light up a cigarette, took a deep breath and said slowly, "Maiya, what do you think?"

"It's a little strange."

Maiya immediately answered Kiritsugu’s question.

"The sniper who killed Jason arrived too quickly. It can even be said that he had foreseen Jason's actions long ago. However, Jason has the skill of blocking his aura after all, so I think the sniper already knew about Jason's plan to invade the Tohsaka residence."

Emiya Kiritsugu exhaled a puff of smoke and nodded. As expected, he was the one he had trained. His ideas were exactly the same as his.

"The golden Heroic Spirit of the Tōsaka family seemed to be very angry, which means that he didn't know that someone would snatch his prey away." Emiya Kiritsugu added, "So, the Tōsaka family and this mysterious Heroic Spirit should not be in an alliance."

Hisau Maiya nodded obediently.

Emiya Kiritsugu continued to think, "In the battles of Servants, hiding the identity of the Heroic Spirit should be an unchanging rule. Then why did the Tōsaka family allow their Heroic Spirit to appear?"

"Something that should be kept secret was seen by others. Perhaps it was because I wanted to show it to others from the beginning."

In response to Maiya's words, Emiya Kiritsugu nodded, then looked at the Jason who was sniped on the screen, and continued to ask, "Maiya, what do you think about the sniper who killed the Jason?"

"I judged that the other party seemed to have used firearms to attack. When I went to investigate the scene early this morning, I found a semi-transparent billboard that had been shot through in the direction of the shooting." Maiya narrated everything.

"Unfortunately, the bullet holes were melted by the high temperature or magic, so we can't tell the exact caliber of the bullet, but we speculate that it was a high-precision sniper rifle with a range of more than 2 km, and it must have been enchanted with a very powerful magic."

Emiya Kiritsugu nodded in agreement. "A bullet without a mysterious power cannot penetrate a Heroic Spirit. Only a Servant can fight a Servant. But will they use firearms to attack? Will it be a modern Heroic Spirit? Or a fictional Heroic Spirit?"

Maiya continued to tell her own judgment, "The Tōsaka family's Heroic Spirit Noble Phantasm is extremely powerful, and it is also a long-range attack type. I think it is very likely to be an Archer rank. As for the attacker, it is very likely to be a Caster who is good at item making."

"Indeed, compared to Alice, a caster or an Jason is more suitable for me... Maiya, how is the Jason's Master?"

"He was sent to a church for evacuation last night. I heard that the priest's name was Philip Kotomine."

When he heard this name, Emiya Kiritsugu's pupils shrank. People who have no desires or requests are the most terrifying.

"Maiya, go to Fuyuki Church and arrange for a familiar. Just one will do. You don't need to do anything. Just watch from a distance and don't get discovered."

"Yes. I understand." Although she didn't really understand, Maiya still responded nicely. She was not a person who liked to ask questions.

After turning off the TV, Emiya began to check the various guns and ammunition that Maiya brought.

Most magicians are self-righteous people. They have a deep-rooted belief that they are the middlemen between mystery and humans. Therefore, the only people who can harm them are their fellow magicians.

They can instantly see through magic that has not yet been performed, but they reject all cutting-edge items, whether it is guns and ammunition or electronic products, they are all rejected by them.

And this is the winning strategy formulated by Emiya Kiritsugu - if you want to defeat a magus, you can't rely on magic.

Kiritsugu checked each gun in turn and put them back into the box.

"Illya is even lighter than that Walter, and she's obviously eight years old..."

Kiritsugu fell into memories, dazedly recalling the past days, until Maiya leaned over from behind him and snuggled into his arms, and he was startled.

Maiya's soft arms hooked around his neck, and her cold and soft lips blocked Emiya Kiritsugu's mouth.

"Just focus on what needs to be done right now and don't think about anything else."

Maiya's voice was exceptionally gentle, and even had a seductive air.

However, looking at Maiya's face that was too close to him and listening to her soft voice, Emiya Kiritsugu did not feel the slightest impulse. He could only feel his chest slowly getting colder, and even his emotions were no longer surging.

My heart...doesn't hurt anymore.

...

At the seaside, Claire did not notice that the hat on her head was gradually turning green. She was still immersed in the excitement of seeing the sea.

Alice took off her boots, revealing two white feet, and stepped happily on the beach. The waves made Alice feel her toes a little cold. She reached out and gently stroked the back of her feet, bringing a touch of warmth.

The sea at night is still beautiful, like a mirror of the night sky.

Claire had finally had enough fun and stopped jumping around. Instead, she walked slowly on the beach. As she walked, she talked to Alice about what she had seen and heard today.

"Alice, do you like the sea too?"

Alice, dressed in a well-tailored suit, gave a wry smile but still answered the question, "In my time, the other side of the sea was the enemy."

"Ah, sorry." Claire's expression also became serious. "I only thought that we were both girls, but forgot that you were King Arthur, so naturally you wouldn't have time to go on a date or anything like that."

"That's right." Alice didn't care. She had long since given up her identity as a woman. All she cared about was the honor of being a knight and her country. "Claire, you actually want to go shopping with Kiritsugu more than with me, right?"

"No, Kiritsugu will be miserable if I go shopping with him." Claire shook her head.

"How come?" Alice couldn't understand the connection between the two.

"Kiritsugu is a person who blames himself for being happy." Claire explained to Alice, "When he was shopping with me, he must have been as happy as I was. But after that, he must have hated himself, hated himself for chasing after happiness."

Alice understood a little, "Kiritsugu... feels that he doesn't deserve happiness... right?"

"Maybe. He always wanted to live purely for his ideals, but he couldn't do it, so he could only punish himself with pain." Thinking of Kiritsugu, Alice Field's eyes were filled with tenderness.

Alice was about to say something to comfort her, but suddenly rushed forward and grabbed Claire's arm. Claire, who was attacked by surprise, assessed the situation very calmly.

"Is it an enemy Servant?"

Alice nodded solemnly.

"Then treat him well." Claire gave Alice a bold smile.

"As you wish."
