The stock exchange is located on Connaught Road, West of Jardine House, Central and Western District.
This is the financial center of Hong Kong and even Asia.
Not only are the HSBC and Standard Chartered buildings on both sides, but the city's large and small commercial banks, financial companies and international banks are also located nearby.
It has a long history, and it appeared as early as the early days of Hong Kong's opening to the outside world in the 19th century. The earliest securities trading in Hong Kong can be traced back to 1866. The first stock exchange in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Stockbrokers Association, was established in 1891.
After 1969, the Far East, Gold and Silver, and Kowloon Stock Exchanges were established successively, and the Hong Kong stock market entered the so-called "Four Exchanges Era" with the coexistence of four exchanges. The original four exchanges in Hong Kong and their founding time: The Hong Kong Stock Exchange was founded in 1947, the Far East Stock Exchange was founded on December 17, 1969. The Gold and Silver Stock Exchange was founded on September 15, 1971, and the Kowloon Stock Exchange was founded in 1972.
