Connor looked at Sam deeply, and their eyes met briefly. Sam understood what he meant and took the initiative to walk to Aunt Liu and sit next to her.
Connor said nothing more and walked into the cave until his figure was completely lost in the darkness.
After a few breaths, the cave returned to silence again.
Sam was wrapped in Connor's coat and could vaguely feel the remaining body temperature. As the cold invaded, Sam couldn't help but tighten his collar inward to prevent the cold wind from coming in through the sleeves.
Aunt Liu seemed tired, with tear marks clearly visible on her face. She was leaning against a charred wooden beam with her eyes closed to rest. Sam slowed down his movements and lay down quietly, resting his head on a piece of wood. He couldn't help but let his thoughts drift away.
