The inn was very quiet, and the sound of the waves and wind and rain outside became more and more obvious. Occasionally, a breeze came in through the window, blowing the candlelight and the bed curtains swaying slightly. Logan turned sideways and pulled the quilt higher for him to cover his exposed shoulders.
Liam opened his eyes.
"Did I wake you up?" Logan gently stroked his hair. "It's still a while before dawn. Go back to sleep."
Liam turned sideways, buried his face in his arms, and continued the dream that he had just unfinished.
Logan did not sleep all night, not wanting to sleep, but also not willing to sleep. It was not until the night gradually faded away and the fragmented golden light shone through the window that he woke up the person in his arms.
