The night was as silent as water. The guard at the palace gate was dozing off when he suddenly heard a neighing in the distance. He stood up hastily and looked, only to see a fast horse galloping towards him. When he got closer, he realized that it was General Adrian.

Who was it? The guard heaved a sigh of relief and hurried forward to hold his horse: "General, why are you here at this time?"

"Has there been anyone who entered the palace before me?" Adrian asked.

"No." The guard shook his head. "It has been very quiet."

Adrian nodded, and without further explanation, he rode his horse at full speed into the Chongyang Gate and headed straight for the Imperial Guards’ station in the palace.

A moment later, another group of people came with bright torches. If the guards had not seen that the person leading them was Victor, they would have thought that someone was here to cause trouble.

"Liu---" The guard had just said one word when he was pushed aside and watched the group of people break into the palace.

Even if one's brain was slow to react, one could sense that something seemed unusual. Moreover, Victor had resigned many years ago, so there was absolutely no reason for him to run to the palace at this time. So the guards hurriedly followed him into the palace to report the matter to their superiors.

The deputy commander of the Imperial Guards is named Cao Chi. He usually looks listless and seems to have no ambitions. But when he saw Adrian suddenly appear, he seemed like a different person.

"Catch him for me!" Victor came from afar and gave the order in a hurry.

The Imperial Guards split into two groups. Some stood behind Adrian, while more gathered around Cao Chi.

"The emperor has ordered it." Adrian drew his sword and roared, "Catch the traitors in the Liu Mansion. Anyone who resists will be killed without mercy!"

"Yes!" The iron-blooded shouts were in unison, reaching the sky.

In a large house on Zhengwen Street, the current imperial tutor Tao Rende was still sleeping soundly, but someone outside shouted, "Master, run! Robbers are coming in!"

The lady beside him sat up, still in shock, and asked, "What happened?"

The sound of swords clashing outside the window was extremely harsh. Although Tao Rende was over sixty years old, he was a high-ranking official after all. He knew that there were people in the court who were restless and had long disregarded life and death, so he did not panic. He put on his shoes and pulled out the big knife beside the bed, and was about to take his wife out to kill, but he heard a light laugh in his ear: "Master Tao, it's still cold outside, at least put on some clothes."

"Oh!" Mrs. Tao was startled again. When did there come another person in the room?

"King of the Southwest?" Tao Rende was extremely shocked.

Logan said: "Those who come from outside are all experts, Master Tao should just stay in this bedroom."

"You... dare to rebel!" Madam Tao protected her master behind her and exerted the aura of an imperial decree.

Tao Rende: ...

"Madam, you have misunderstood. I am here to protect you two." Logan said, "As for who the person outside is, I believe Lord Tao knows it very well."

"Is the emperor okay? What's the situation in the palace?" asked Lord Tao.

"The emperor is still in Jiangnan, but General Shen is back." Logan said, "After we deal with this group outside, if there is still time, I will go to the palace to help General Shen."

Riley took out a handful of poisonous insects from his pocket, slapped them, and stuffed them all into the mouth of the rebel in front of him. Being dragged out to fight in the middle of the night, he naturally had to take advantage of them. Henry was stabbed in the chest by Duan Nian, blood gushed out of his mouth, and he finally knelt on the ground.

There were about a hundred rebels, all of them were determined to kill Tao Daren, but they did not expect that Logan would show up in the middle and disrupt their entire plan.

Tao Rende said anxiously: "King of Southwest, and other colleagues in the court---"

"Master Tao, don't worry." Logan said, "The emperor has already sent people to protect you secretly."

"That's good." Tao Rende immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

"Can we go back to sleep now?" Riley yawned.

"No." Logan jumped on his horse and said, "Come here, follow me into the palace!"

Riley was in tears and felt deeply deceived, it turned out that there was more than one fight.

The palace was filled with screams of killing and blazing flames. The eunuchs and maids screamed and fled, all thinking that the world was about to change. Victor had worked hard over the years, planting many spies around Liam and in the army, hoping that they would help him succeed one day. Now that it was too late to turn back, he naturally had to fight his way out. First, he had to eliminate Liam's confidants, and then inform the world that the emperor had been assassinated in Jiangnan, so that he could legitimately recall the exiled King Gao Chu Xiang back to the royal city and reshuffle the cards in his hand.

Adrian was fighting in blood, and even his eyes were red.

"General, it would be better if you surrendered as soon as possible." Victor said slowly outside the crowd, "Now everyone in this palace is my man."

Adrian gripped the hilt of the sword tightly and stabbed him in the face.

Not only was there chaos in the palace, the imperial city had also been in chaos for a long time. The rebels seemed to have emerged from the ground overnight, and wanted to capture all the court officials who were against the Liu family. However, they were intercepted by the shadow guards secretly deployed by Liam. Fires and screams of killing were heard everywhere. Some brave citizens opened the door a little and listened for a while, but were pulled back by their wives by the ears. They wanted to join in the fun?

Seeing that Adrian was already overwhelmed, Victor sneered, turned around and strode towards the imperial study.

"Where do you want to go, Lord Liu?" Logan rode his horse and stood in front, raising his eyebrows slightly.

"The King of the Southwest?" Victor was surprised and confused. He didn't know why he appeared here, nor could he tell whether he was an enemy or a friend, whether he wanted to help Liam or take a piece of the pie from him.

"I heard there was something exciting here, so I came here." Logan smiled, "It was really worth the trip."

"If the King of Southwest has any conditions, you might as well say it directly." Victor said.

Logan asked: "No matter what the request is, can Lord Liu agree to it?"

Victor gritted his teeth and said: "If the King of the Southwest can help me succeed, all the provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou can be ceded to me from now on."

Logan shook his head: "This is not all I want."

Victor did not expect that his appetite would be so big, so he said dissatisfiedly: "The King of the Southwest must think clearly. The conditions I can offer are unprecedented. If it were the Chu family, I am afraid they would even try to take back the current sixteen states in the southwest."

"You dare to brag about this condition?" Logan laughed, "What the Emperor of Chu can give me is unprecedented."

"Whatever Liam agrees to give, I can also agree to it." Victor hardened his heart.

"You may not be able to give what the King of Chu can give." Logan drew his sword from its sheath, "You'd better take your life as soon as possible so that I can use it to make people happy."

"How dare you!" Victor took two steps back. "Come on!"

As assassins rushed forward from all directions, Logan sneered, and the blade in his hand cut through the wind, and the collision of metal and stone brought out countless hissing flames.

On the other side, Riley was probably still sleepy, so her actions were much more brutal. After throwing Adrian aside, she began to scatter poisonous insects all over the sky, knocking down a large number of them in the blink of an eye.

Adrian: ...

The fierce battle lasted until dawn, and the Chu army won a great victory. Victor and his son were tied up and thrown into prison on charges of treason. The rest of the rebels were killed and wounded, and all the officials in the court of Liu's family were controlled. The other officials came to the court to discuss matters the next day, and the hall that was originally full of people was now mostly empty.

"Master Taifu, is General Shen okay?" Liu Dajing was worried - after this disaster, he became one of the few members of the Liu family in the court.

The Grand Tutor said, "Master Liu, don't worry. It won't delay your niece's marriage."

Everyone in the court and the country knew that Lord Liu loved to be a matchmaker. When all the officials heard this, they laughed out loud, which dispelled a lot of the worries brought about by last night's incident.

But then again, even the highly respected Master Taifu did not expect Liam to have anticipated this day and had shadow guards around everyone to protect them. Thinking of this, I couldn't help but feel lucky that I didn't do anything wrong in my moment of confusion.

Although Adrian was injured, his life was not in danger and he would recover in a few days. Logan left on the afternoon of the second day, saying that he was going back to the southwest.

"What does the King of Southwest think about Shada?" Adrian asked.

"The Liu family has fallen, so no one should care about him." Logan said, "As for why Victor wanted to find him to enter the royal city, and why Gu Li died tragically on the street, all of this has nothing to do with the southwest. It would be inconvenient for me to intervene, so I will leave it to the general to judge.

"As the King of the Southwest said that day, the Northwest is really going to be in chaos again." Adrian sighed worriedly.

Logan smiled, said goodbye to him, and then left the royal city, riding his horse all the way south.

Ten days later, Riley finally realized: "Is this the way back to the southwest?"

"Of course not." Logan said.

Riley opened her mouth in shock, what did you mean by "of course not".

"Who said I'm going to the southwest?" Logan asked back.

"You said it yourself!" Riley was sad and angry. She said it herself a few days ago.

Logan raised an eyebrow, without a trace of guilt: "Let's go to Qianye City."

Riley was desperate: "To see your sweetheart?"

Logan spurred his horse and galloped all the way.

Riley wanted to cry loudly. If you want to have a tryst, then just go ahead. Why can’t you let me go back first?

In Qionghua Valley, Liam was lying on the bed reading a book. Ye Jin brought in the medicine and then wanted to run away.

"Xiao Jin." Liam called him.

"What Xiao Jin? That's what Master calls me!" Ye Jin put her hands on her H!ps, "I told you to call me this miracle doctor." Do you understand the honorific? Is it polite?

"Okay, this miracle doctor." Liam looked at him with a smile, "Can you chat with me?"

"You can still laugh." Ye Jin sat down on the bed, "An emperor has ended up like this."

"To sit firmly on the throne, you have to pay a price." Liam said, "I don't feel wronged."

Of course you don't feel wronged! You bring a large group of people to eat, live and chat for free, without paying a penny, and every meal has meat!

Ye Jin thought angrily, I am obviously the one who should be wronged.

"I heard from the servant that there will be guests coming to the valley tomorrow?" Liam asked.

"It's Palace Master Zhuiying, he just happened to pass by." Ye Jin took a bite of the pear and answered casually.

"Qin Shaoyu?" Liam was a little surprised.

"You actually know someone in the underworld?" Ye Jin didn't expect this.

"I don't know him, but Ting Adrian has mentioned him. He is a martial arts master with a chivalrous heart. He sounds like someone who can accomplish great things." Liam said.

"Don't tell him you want to be an official." Ye Jin reminded, "He won't agree."

"Really?" Liam was a little disappointed. "Now that wars are raging in the northwest border, the court is in need of people. There are many talented people in the martial arts world. If you are willing---"

"I don't know about others, but Qin Shaoyu will definitely not agree." Ye Jin interrupted him and repeated it again.

Liam could only sigh.

"Back then everyone wanted to fight for the throne, and thought it was a good job, but it turned out to be so tiring." Ye Jin couldn't understand it.

Liam smiled and reached out to help him straighten his collar.

Don't touch me! Ye Jin slapped him away. I told you guys that you're not that familiar with each other, so why do you touch me?

"Will someone come to pick you up?" Ye Jin asked again after a while, "Or do you want me to help deliver the letter?"

"I have already sent someone back to the royal city." Liam said, "I estimate that someone will come in a while."

Wangcheng...Ye Jin really wanted to stand in the yard with his hands behind his back and sigh to the sky.

That means I have to live there for a long time.

On the official road, Logan traveled day and night. If his mount was not a famous horse, he would have died of exhaustion several times.

"Are you in a hurry to get married?" Riley was furious in the middle of the night.

Logan reminded: "In three hours, we will be on the road again." So there is not much time to sleep.

Riley lay back under the tree, feeling worse than death.

If I could be reborn in the next life, I would definitely choose a family without a brother.

The grove was very quiet. The group had been traveling for days and slept soundly, but even so, the nature of martial artists was still there. So when they heard a slight sound of breaking wind, everyone's eyes opened almost at the same moment.

Hundreds of darts flew towards them, flashing a faint blue light and nailing to the tree. Then there was a large golden net covered with poisoned barbs. Logan swept it away with a knife and took Riley to a safe area.

"King of the Southwest." A silver bell-like laughter came from the depths of the forest, and petals were floating all over the sky. Riley rolled her eyes and asked, "Your romantic debt?" Seeing this fragrant smell, why not rush to greet it with a smile on her face.

Logan said: "You are wrong. I am afraid that her purpose of this trip is not just me."

"Could it be me?" Riley curled her lips.

"Has the King of Southwest decided when to give Yao'er to me?" A sedan chair descended from the sky and a beautiful young woman walked out of it.

Riley: ...

Auntie, could you please say it again?

"Master Lan." Logan said, "I said that day that Xiaoyao had never learned the Bodhi Heart Sutra. Master, I'm afraid you found the wrong person."

"I know better than anyone what kind of martial arts he practices." The young woman approached, "If you hand him over to me, maybe the King of Southwest can survive."

The person who came had bad intentions. Logan stood in front of Riley, his eyes becoming increasingly fierce.
