However, the first thing Emperor Chongzhen had to do was not this, but to lead all civil and military officials to send the loyal and martyrs who had died for their country in the past six months to the Hall of Loyalty and Martyrs.
The Loyalty Hall is located in front of the Imperial Ancestral Temple and beside the Shrine. There is a couplet posted on the pillars on both sides of the entrance to the main hall.
First Couplet: Loyal and courageous, sacrificing one’s life for the country is known throughout the world.
Second line: The heroic name lives on, and the loyal soul shines forever.
