Emperor Chongzhen watched Queen Olivia leave, then looked up at the sky. He felt that the arrangements for the Jizhen soldiers should be almost complete, so he decided to go over and take a look out of concern.
Another reason is what he and Queen Olivia said, that military power must be in their own hands. The so-called military power does not refer to this status and power, but to the ability to make the army obedient.
At least Emperor Chongzhen knew that one of the methods used by ancient famous generals to win the hearts of the soldiers was to suck the wounds of the soldiers! Although he might not necessarily do it, he knew the meaning of it, which was to eat and live with the soldiers under his command, share the joys and sorrows, and be recognized by the army. At least he had to perform in this aspect.
Go and see how the Jizhen soldiers are arranged. This will help them gain their hearts and also make me feel more at ease.
So Emperor Chongzhen rode his horse across the Forbidden City, went out of the Xuanwu Gate, went north from the west gate, crossed the Yuhe Bridge, and rushed to the Inner Training Ground along the bank of the Taiye Lake.
