"Buy candied haws on a stick, fresh candied haws on a stick. Do you two ladies want to buy candied haws on a stick?"
It wasn't until the shouts of the candied haws seller came to her ears that Harper came back to her senses. She raised her eyes and looked at the young man, with a smile on her lips.
Her smile was clear and shallow, like a blooming flower bud, as if she could smell the fragrance of flowers in the garden.
Archer's eyes stayed on her lips, and he didn't even notice when the girl withdrew her hand.
She thought the situation would get better after she took her hand back, but the boy's increasingly sticky gaze made Harper feel like a light on her back. Now she would rather her brother be a little more indifferent.
