Using chopsticks is easy, as you can use your teeth to bite the food and put it into your mouth. As for a spoon, not only do you have to cover it with your mouth, you also tend to lick it lightly with your tongue.
If she had used it herself, it would be fine, but the main problem was that after she finished using it, the bad guy would take the next bite and eat it himself.
It was obviously intentional.
