When I was a child, I asked my mother what Zhao meant.
My mother said it was the sun.
The sun drives away darkness and also drives away the evil forces hidden in the darkness.
She said that people should live uprightly under the sun and be a person with ideals, beliefs and responsibility.
Later, I occasionally thought of the way my mother looked when she said this to me. The light in her eyes was not gentle, but firm.
