Zane Shen never thought that his apology would not bring back any memories. And the way the monk looked at him just now was different from the way he looked at him the last time he apologized...
Too similar.
He finally knew where that uncomfortable feeling came from.
This look is so penetrating.
You can't feel it on weekdays because he usually has evil thoughts hidden in his mind, and he doesn't feel anything when he sees the other person's clear eyes; but when the evil thoughts and hypocrisy really emerge, his clarity will make people feel uncomfortable.
He was clearly fully armed, but under that look, it felt like he was being stripped naked.
What’s more important is that if you are not sensitive, you won’t notice it at all.
Because this bald donkey gave people such a good and comfortable feeling. Zane Shen even felt that if he hadn't shown his disregard for him so obviously, he wouldn't have been able to tell what he liked or disliked.
"This bald donkey, even if he is not as famous as Shanzai, he should not be a simple figure in Tianji Zen Temple..."
He never understood Tianji Temple.
As soon as the monk left, his brows furrowed.
The painting of spring orchids was pressed on the table by an ordinary ceramic paperweight, and the ink had not yet dried.
Zane Shen didn't care.
He walked to the table, picked up the porridge and took a look at it, then looked at the shabby pickles, and finally laughed out of anger: When the day comes that he can walk, I will definitely teach this bald donkey a lesson.
After thinking about it again and again, he finally suppressed the ridiculous and angry anger in his heart and obediently ate the porridge with pickles.
When there is too much fish and meat, just eat some light porridge and some side dishes to whet your appetite.
Zane Shen was picky, but in a sense, he was not incapable of hardship. He had seen life and death, so what did this matter?
After putting the bowl down, he went out and took a look.
The bowl of white rice that was placed under the eaves yesterday had indeed been taken away by the monks, and the eaves were empty. Only the marks left by the bamboo chopsticks were left on the mud ground not far ahead.
People live in a bamboo house surrounded by a sea of bamboo, giving people a feeling of being out of touch with the world.
He calculated that there were only fifteen days left before the backlash of the **Divine Art would occur.
It's time to make some preparations.
Without continuing to look at the scenery outside, or going out to bask in the sun, Zane Shen walked back into the house and pulled out the outer robe from the closet.
The bloodstains have been washed away.
The cuts on the robe caused by swords and knives were carefully sewn up with a hidden needle, and the damage was not noticeable from the front.
But when I reached out and pinched it, it was still a little thick under the sleeve.
"Sss", he tore it hard and made a small hole on the inside of the sleeve, and inside was a thin piece of fragrant leather sewn.
Half purple-brown, half snow-white.
If there is someone who knows the value of things in the world, he will definitely recognize that this is the legendary "Youshixiang" that is worth a fortune, and it is a combination of both northern and southern incense.
The Youshi incense is a strange kind of incense. It is colorless and odorless when burned, but it can be identified by the Youshi bird.
Once the incense is lit, if there are any ghost birds nearby, they will come to the scent.
Since the discovery of this secret hundreds of years ago, powerful forces in the martial arts world have begun to make this incense and raise this bird to use for sending messages in special circumstances.
But fragrant trees are hard to grow, and weak birds are hard to survive. Hundreds of years later, it is difficult to find the Youshi incense in the world, and even the Youshi birds are few and far between.
There are some in the demon world, and they are also presented by wealthy businessmen passing by.
After Zane Shen got this thing, he just kept it for fun in case of emergency, but he never thought that there would be a day when he would really need it.
He gently used his fingernails to peel off the layer of fragrant skin, divided it into two pieces according to different colors, and rolled it up carefully.
So they became two strips as thick as a little finger, each only five inches long.
One is purple-brown, the other is snow-white.
The purple-brown one is southern incense, and the snow-white one is northern incense.
This is because the scent of the southern scent grows in both the north and the south, but with slight differences; the birds of the southern scent grow in both the north and the south, and the scents they recognize also vary according to the region. Southern scents do not attract northern birds, and southern birds do not recognize northern scents.
Therefore, in Zane Shen's hands, these two incenses have extraordinary uses.
The ghost birds attracted by the purple-brown southern incense can fly back to the Demon Road with the letter; the ghost birds attracted by the snow-white northern incense can fly to Pengshan with the letter.
The Youshi Bird is extremely fast, and it will take no more than five days to travel between these two places.
This is his "life-saving straw".
However, if it is not used properly, or if there is a slight mistake in thinking, such as lighting the wrong incense, attracting the wrong bird, or calling the wrong person, this "life-saving" may turn into "taking life".
"One is a righteous person, and on the surface, he is my mortal enemy who wants to kill me as soon as possible..."
Zane Shen lightly touched the white incense with his finger, and recalled Mason Gu's ethereal posture of standing with his hands behind his back. He then moved his attention to the purple incense next to him, and recalled Kai Pei's calm and scheming face.
"One is an evil person who might plot against me and betray my old confidant..."
Hard to choose.
It’s really hard to choose.
Only then did he realize the loneliness: there are so many people in the world, and if he makes a call from a high place in the demon world, everyone will bow to him, but who can he trust?
Even the two people left after careful selection and deliberation are full of uncertain dangers.
Inexplicably, a feeling of weariness arose in my heart.
He casually broke off a piece of bamboo outside the window, covered the two incense sticks with paper, put them into a thin bamboo tube, and then hid them in his sleeve.
He wouldn't light incense rashly without knowing the situation outside.
You know, if he clicks the wrong button, the word "death" will be waiting for him.
In the final analysis, you still have to go to Tianji Temple to take a look.
I didn't follow the monk in yesterday because I was angry; I didn't follow him today because I felt it would be too bold to follow him in broad daylight, in the middle of the day.
If you lose it by accident, who knows if you will be found.
So, after putting away the incense, Zane Shen walked around, trying to see the terrain near Bukong Mountain clearly, in order to prepare for the future.
Then he returned to the bamboo hut before the bald donkey came back.
He just pretended that he had not gone out all afternoon and sat behind the desk reading scriptures.
If you don’t know, you might think that Zane Shen is going to convert to Buddhism from now on.
But even so, there was no flaw at all, and the monk ignored him.
Come and deliver the meal and leave.
It was still that bowl of white porridge and that plate of pickles, nothing had changed at all.
Five days passed like this.
No matter how much Zane Shen said nice things, both openly and covertly, and even condescended to talk to him about his own insights on a certain passage of scripture, the other party remained indifferent.
Not even an eyebrow moved!
Eat meat without anything, drink wine to dream!
There are two meals a day, lunch and dinner, which are served on time and consist of light porridge and side dishes.
Zane Shen did not become pure-hearted and indifferent to fame and fortune after eating. Instead, he became irritated. His mouth tasted bland and his eyes turned green. When he saw that dead bald donkey, he wanted to chop him to pieces with his sword!
But I have to endure it.
You ask why?
Why? It's because of the great formation on Mount Bukong!
Five days passed, and he followed the monk carefully for five nights. Basically, he followed the monk as soon as he left.
I thought it would be easy to find the walking route.
But after following him for five nights and losing him every night, Zane Shen felt that something was weird.
Today is the sixth night, and there are only ten days left until the backlash of the **Divine Art.
He has recovered half of his strength.
Naturally, he could do various things more easily than before, and had a little more ability to protect himself; but along with his power, there was also a sense of evil and restlessness.
In the past few days, although the monk was a mute and could not speak or express himself to him, Zane Shen felt that...
There was definitely something wrong with the way I looked at him these past two days.
Because there was something very wrong in his mind.
It can be said that there is not much time left for him.
But tonight is definitely a great opportunity.
The weather was good, and a heavy snow fell during the day, covering the entire mountain and even breaking many branches on the mountain. The ground was covered with a thick layer of snow.
And by this evening, the snow had stopped.
This means that when people walk on the snow, footprints will be left behind, and they will not be covered by new snow in a short time.
For the past few days, Zane Shen would get lost halfway through chasing the person.
But today...
He just couldn't believe that even with God helping him, he still couldn't get in!
He didn't touch the bowl of hot porridge the monk brought him.
A pair of beautiful almond-shaped eyes, under the dim light, had a dark and captivating glow, just staring steadily out the window.
The monk's departing figure was getting smaller and smaller, and finally he reached the mountain path.
"Hula!"
At this moment, Zane Shen didn't even think about it, and his figure flew out of the window like a ghost!
He was as light as a swan feather, leaping in the bamboo forest, his toes occasionally landing on the snow, but without leaving any trace.
After following for a few days, he became familiar with the route.
The road ahead was passed without much thought. After about three breaths up the mountain road, I saw the monk's back again.
The moon-white monk's robe was a little blurry in the darkness.
But the whole mountain was covered with white snow, and the glow of the snow reflected from the ground actually dyed the moonlight white, making it look like a piece of pure white snow, almost blending into the snow on the mountain.
Go forward slowly and steadily.
The mountain trails were also covered with snow.
After he passed by, two lines of particularly clear footprints were left on the thick snow.
Seeing this, a slightly cold smile suddenly appeared on Zane Shen's thin and cold lips. He held his breath and concentrated even more, following the trail of footprints without distraction.
There are many forks in the mountain path on Mount Bukong.
When he reached 70% of the mountain's height, the dead bald donkey turned around a pile of tall rocks. There was a faint sound of rocks turning, and then he disappeared in an instant.
That's how it was in the past.
Zane Shen chased for five nights in a row, and got stuck here every night. When he turned around, he could not see his figure. The footprints on the ground were messy, and he could not tell which direction he was going.
But today's snow really helped a lot.
Although the person's shadow is gone, the clear footprints on the ground are still there.
He waited cautiously for a while, and when he didn't see the monk turning around or anyone around, he suddenly stepped out, stepped on the footprints left by the monk, and walked through the rock formation step by step.
The heavy stone shadows passing by in front of my eyes made me feel dizzy.
But when he took the twenty-seventh step, he suddenly became clear-headed.
Zane Shen looked closely---
Tianji Temple is right in front of you.
This should be the back mountain.
From his angle, he could only see a corner of the tall mountain gate in the front mountain. The towering bell and drum towers on both sides of the Heavenly King Hall cast symmetrical shadows on the deep ink-blue sky.
The Buddhist temples, stacked one upon another, are solemn and dignified.
The white snow covered the golden glazed tiles.
Lights were lit in every place in the Zen temple.
The dim light illuminated the walls painted with gods and Buddhas, the pagodas engraved with scriptures, the carved windows covered with lotus patterns, and the few small Bodhi trees with leaves in the courtyard.
The entire Zen temple gives people a strange sense of stability.
Every detail is full of Zen.
The area behind the mountain is full of meditation rooms and monk's quarters where ordinary monks live.
But there are no walls.
The monk in the moon-white robe came out of the stone formation and went up the stairs on the back mountain. He passed by the meditation room but did not go in. Instead, he went deeper inside.
"Strange, why is this bald donkey not going back to the monastery?"
Zane Shen saw this and was a little curious. Anyway, he was not familiar with this Zen temple, so it was just right to pick someone to follow and get a feel for the situation of this place first.
With a flash of thought, he restrained his breath and followed.
His lightness skill had reached the pinnacle, and he climbed up to the roof easily, stepping on the snow on the glazed tiles on the roof, and climbed up silently.
Travel all the way.
After a while, the monk turned from the road, went up the stairs and entered a hall.
Zane Shen was lying on the eaves of a nearby hall, watching from a distance, and almost subconsciously wanted to move over to take a look. But just as he was about to stand up, he raised his eyes and was suddenly startled!
There is a somewhat old plaque hanging on the palace door.
The light around was too dim, so it was a bit blurry.
But what is his eyesight?
In just this instant, he could clearly see the three characters engraved on it in large seal script - Thousand Buddha Hall!
