The spring came exceptionally early this year. Along with the melting of ice and snow, not only did the green grass sprout and all things revive, but there was also the crisis of the Ye family that could no longer be concealed.
After school started, Max Ye rarely went out to play. He stayed at home most of the time outside of classes, and had more opportunities to spend time with his family.
The first thing I noticed was that more and more people came to visit our house. At most, I could hear five or six knocks on the door a day.
Once, he couldn't sleep because of the noise. He ran downstairs and saw a row of men in black suits and ties standing in the living room. Laura Luo was talking to them anxiously. When she saw Max Ye coming down, she waved at him and said, "Go upstairs and sleep. Lock the door."
Later, he didn't know when he started to dare to open the door even when he heard a knock. Every day before school, Laura Luo would ask his aunt to visit him outside and told him not to come back for lunch or dinner, as there would be a car to pick him up after evening self-study.
