Huo Zheng got off the carriage and stopped in front of the boy covered in blood in his silk boots. The boy opened his bloody eyes and vaguely saw his tall outline. Thinking it was that man again, he trembled with fear and turned over and tried to crawl forward.
Huo Zheng had an excellent memory and recognized at a glance that he was the boy to whom Ivy Song had given a few copper coins that day.
"You actually ran here!"
Someone pushed aside the crowd of onlookers and Huo Zheng looked sideways. It was a fat and strong woman with a ferocious face who was approaching the boy with a whip in her hand.
The woman squatted down in front of Huo Zheng, grabbed the boy's long hair and pulled it back hard. He trembled violently in pain and opened his mouth to beg for mercy.
