The Survivor from the Sea Chapter 5

The purpose of cutting banana leaves is simply because the leaves are large, which makes it easier to wrap food or use them as cushions. The leaves that were previously caught at sea were too small, and although the freshly cut coconut leaves are also large, their shape is definitely not suitable for wrapping things.

Taking a large banana leaf, Riley used a rope to pass through the edge of the leaf, and then folded the banana leaf to form a net bag, so that he could put the freshly picked coconuts and bananas in it.

Considering the load-bearing capacity of the banana leaf, I didn't dare hang it directly on my body. I was afraid that if I dragged it on the ground, the banana leaf would be worn out and I wouldn't be able to reach the float.

Finally, they put a wooden board under the place where the banana leaf touched the ground, and tied a rope between the top of the wooden board and the banana leaf petiole. Only then could Riley hang the rope over his shoulder and pull the things back like pulling a cart.

The makeshift cart loaded with a dozen coconuts and a few bunches of bananas had already reached Riley's load limit. Looking at the supplies on the ground, she stuffed some large leaves into the cart without giving up, and then walked towards the float with heavy steps.

As soon as she walked out of the forest on the island and saw the location of her float, she found a man standing on the shore looking at her float. Not far away there was another 4*4 float, which looked obviously larger than Riley's nine small floats.

Riley, who originally wanted to hide aside and observe secretly, suddenly remembered that she was still a novice and could not attack others. In addition, although she had been trying her best to pull the rope close to the wooden board, the banana leaves on her newly made leaf car were badly worn and were about to break under the weight. After weighing the pros and cons, she decided to walk towards the floating board with the iron spear in her hand.

When she passed by the man, she politely asked for his permission. Not only did he move aside, he even lent her a hand when she was struggling to pull the cart onto the float.

This action confused Riley. What did this elder brother mean? Was he here to help others?

"Is there anything I can do for you?" After taking off the weight on his body, Riley took a bottle of fresh water from the rope tied around his body and asked while drinking.

"You're the first living person I've seen in two days. I came here to say hello, but I discovered that for some reason, I can't get on your boat." After finally seeing someone, Jasper started talking immediately. Actually, he doesn't talk that much usually, and this time he was simply holding it back.

"Can't get on board?" Riley heard the other party say this and quickly checked the status of his ship. Sure enough, a prompt appeared: [Stranger Jasper wants to get on board. Do you agree? Note: In the stranger state, each time you get on board, you need the consent of the ship owner. 】

This setting is quite good. It prevents strangers from getting on board, which directly prevents bad guys from getting on board and stealing things when she is not around.

"It seems to be a game setting. You need the owner's consent before you can get on board." Riley told the other party the information she saw. It was not that she was defenseless against others, but the setting that she could not hurt others during her novice period made her bolder. Most importantly, as a person who is obsessed with looks, she could not be fierce when she suddenly saw a gentle boy. It was too embarrassing.

"So that's how it is. I'm going to go into the island to explore. Do you want to join me?" Jasper's behavior was completely due to the human habit of living in groups. If there was a chance, he still wanted to travel with someone.

"You go first. I just came back. I need to rest for a while. I have to go in and move the wooden boards I cut down later." Having a calm attitude does not mean walking together. Just watching from a distance will be enough. She is still wary at this stage.

Jasper didn't react much after being rejected. He said goodbye to Riley happily, went back to his floating board, packed up, and left with his small leather bag. Riley looked at the other party's equipment and expressed his envy.

Seeing the other party walking away, Riley got off his own float, moved closer to the other party's float to observe for a while, and when he came back he felt resentful.

How come there is such a big gap between the other person's float and mine when we are both trying to survive? The difference between the other person's float and mine is not in the number of floats, but in the quality!

The most obvious thing is that fishing nets have been hung around the opponent's float, while we have a simple water filter and barbecue grill. The water filter on the opponent's float is obviously much more advanced, and it seems that it does not even require fuel to be added. It is an automatic filtering glass product.

As for eating, there seems to be no simple barbecue grill on the floating board opposite, but there is a grill, and even a stove next to it with a large iron pot on it, and a small stove next to it, which is filled with various pots and pans.

Riley was still spreading everything out on the floating board to dry. Several drying racks had been set up opposite, with several fish and meat drying on them. As he looked at them, he felt something was wrong. Those pieces of meat were obviously not fish. Did this guy go hunting? Why were there other kinds of meat?

These were enough to shock Riley. She felt even more sad when she continued to watch. He actually had a bed. Although it was made of wooden boards and banana leaves, the pillow and thin blanket on it were made of cloth. She had never seen cloth in two days! She just slept anywhere on the floating board.

What made Riley most curious was that there was a corner on the opposite floating board, which was blocked by wooden boards on two sides and covered by huge banana leaves on the other two sides. She stretched her head to look for a long time but couldn't figure out what it was. Riley decided that she must talk more with the handsome guy and his belongings when he came back. Tears of envy flowed from the corners of her mouth.

There was also the small leather bag that the other person carried out. She clearly saw that the other person stuffed a lot of water and food into it, and the small bag was not bulging at all. It must be something from the game, just like her storage box, with grids inside to store things.

What on earth should he use to exchange good things with the other party? Riley returned to his float, thinking about how to trick the other party into exchanging, while trying to open the coconut with an iron gun. The awkward tools and the hard coconuts almost stabbed his hands several times.

Giving up the iron spear, Riley found the rare metal steel that he had opened from the drifting bottle in the storage box, and added other materials to make a machete. As expected, the rare materials were used, and the tool was sharp and handy.

There were a dozen coconuts and the outer hard shells were cut off in no time. I thought that after cutting off the outer skin, I would be able to see the tender white coconut meat, but I didn't expect that there was a layer of fiber inside. After tearing off the coconut shell fiber, there was another layer of hard shell. Riley felt overwhelmed. In the past, when he bought coconut products in the market, the stall owner would either dig a hole for him to drink the coconut juice directly, or the stall owner would pack the green coconut in a small plastic box.

Who would have thought that the coconut picked from the tree would have three layers inside and outside? Considering that if opened again, there would be coconut meat and coconut water, Riley first picked up a dozen coconuts, and then looked for something on the float to hold coconut juice. After all, her family was poor, and all the glass bottles had been filled with fresh water by her.

She felt bad about throwing away the coconut water, so while she was sitting in front of the storage box looking for a container, she heard someone greeting her.

"Hello, look, this pile of wooden boards is yours, right? Seeing you brought back coconuts and bananas, I went to chop some too. You left these there, so I just took them back, saving you the trouble of making another trip. Check to see if the quantity is correct. I'll remove the ropes, otherwise it will be difficult to put them in your bag." Riley turned her head and saw the handsome guy squatting a little awkwardly near her float, constantly taking out wooden boards from his small leather bag. Soon, there were quite a few wooden boards next to him, and even her ropes on the boards.

"Oh, thank you so much. I was just about to move them after I finished collecting these coconuts. Thanks for your help. By the way, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Riley. I was inexplicably dragged into this game two days ago. Here, let me give you a freshly opened coconut to try." Riley, who originally didn't want to communicate with strangers, compromised. His attitude could be described as amiable.

The gap between the rich and the poor is too big. If you are not proactive when it comes to clinging to the big guys, then you have a problem with your brain.

"It's okay, it's okay. You don't have to be so polite. Thank you. My name is Jasper, and I was also pulled into the game two days ago." Jasper was a little confused when he saw Riley's huge change in attitude. Just now, this man had an expression that seemed to reject him from a thousand miles away, but how come he changed so much when he just helped move some wooden boards? He opened the coconut in his hand with a few clangs and handed it to him without any room for rejection.

Riley grinned and told Jasper cheerfully that he was going to collect more supplies on the island. The first step was to see how to make a big iron pot. He wanted to boil some coconut oil, but he had no tools.

As soon as the topic was brought up, there was no need for any introduction. Jasper automatically followed what Riley said and said that he had an iron pot, he knew how to build a stove, and he even had some coconuts that had been dried in the sun.

As he spoke, he returned to his floating board and moved towards Riley again and again. When Riley agreed to let Jasper get on the floating board, she was ready to hold the machete in her hand. After all, the other party was so aggressive that she had to be on guard.

Unexpectedly, Jasper seemed to be here simply to deliver the goods. After arranging everything for Riley, he even considerately got off the float and stood at a distance to watch Riley.

This operation completely confused Riley. Was he laying out bait to catch a big fish, or did he meet a kind-hearted person?

Under Riley's questioning gaze, Jasper scratched his head and said embarrassedly that he was useless in the kitchen. Some of these things he made by himself, and some he made from diagrams. Unfortunately, he didn't know how to use them. He had only eaten dried meat and boiled meat these days, so he was so excited when he heard Riley say that he could make coconut oil.

As a member of society, Riley believes that he is quite accurate in judging people. It is obvious that Jasper has not been working for a long time, is not good at socializing, and puts everything on the table. The key point is that he is not on guard against others, as if there are no bad people in his eyes. People like this can easily suffer losses when playing games.

Thinking that he could remind each other when they separate, it's better not to say too much now as it would be too depressing. Taking the coconuts that Jasper had already dried, Riley began to clean up. During this time, Jasper went back to his float and got clay for Riley to make two large water tanks.
