Derek and the other man returned to Nishino's courtyard again, and the guardian nin seemed to have known that Derek had successfully passed the selection.
A banquet had already been prepared at home, and two of Nishino's outsider comMasonions whom he had met before, Maemoto Ryota and Yamadaka Miki, were also there.
"I knew you would be fine," said Nishino, who looked happier than Derek himself. "I wonder what mission the daimyo will give you."
"What is the general mission of a guardian nin?"
"That's not necessarily true," Nishino stood up and slowly filled Derek's glass with wine, "In the Kingdom of Wind, as long as the daimyo needs it, the guardian ninja may be dispatched."
