Liu Yuxing was found in an apartment building two kilometers away from the Medical University Hospital. As soon as they walked out of the elevator, they saw the unit where the crime occurred surrounded by a cordon.

"You guys are here." Officer Wang from the police station who was in charge of guarding the scene had already heard about their arrival and was waiting outside the door. When he saw everyone coming, Officer Wang lifted the cordon and let everyone in.

As soon as they entered, everyone's attention was immediately attracted by a blood-stained coffee table. This was a wooden rectangular coffee table, dark brown in color, with scattered bloodstains on the tabletop. If Liu Yuxing really had one kidney removed, then this must be where the operation was performed.

Seeing the scene, Jason and others immediately started working. Sean stood inside the house and looked around the room.

This is a very small one-bedroom and one-living room. The coffee table is on the left side of the room. Behind it is a sofa set and opposite is a TV. Further inside is a double bed, which is covered with a light green bed sheet with streaks of dried blood on it. Next to the bed is a black and white wardrobe. Sean walked over and opened the door. He saw two quilts with white bedspreads inside and a few empty clothes hangers on the horizontal bar.

Seeing these things in the closet, Sean immediately understood. He turned around and asked Officer Wang: "Is this house rented out?"

Officer Wang nodded: "Probably. After sending Liu Yuxing away, we went to the property management to ask and found that all six units on this floor were under the name of a woman named Zhou Xueyan. The property management staff said that they often saw different people coming in and out of these rooms. They are probably short-term tenants. We have contacted Zhou Xueyan and she will be here soon."

As if to confirm what Officer Wang said, at this moment, hurried footsteps were heard outside the door. Sean looked up and saw a woman in her forties or fifties appear at the door.

"What happened? What happened here?" The woman yelled as she trotted to the door, and stopped when she saw the cordon at the door.

The woman was about 40 or 50 years old, of medium height and slightly plump. She was wearing a red top and black bottom women's suit and carrying an LV bag. Although she was dressed brightly, her makeup was a bit rustic. The foundation on her face was thick and white, her permed hair was puffy, and her hoarse voice made her look like a street vendor in a wholesale market.

Perhaps because Sean's gaze was a little sharp, the woman subconsciously took a half step back. She turned her eyes away and twisted her hands together unnaturally.

"Are you Zhou Xueyan?" Sean asked.

"Yeah." The woman nodded, still not daring to raise her eyes.

"Is this room yours?"

"......Yes." The woman nodded again.

"Who do you usually rent these houses to?"

Hearing this, Zhou Xueyan's expression suddenly became nervous. She raised her head and explained hastily: "Comrade police, I didn't rent it out. I lent it to my relatives..."

"We are not here to investigate whether you rented a room privately." Sean interrupted her explanation: "Last night, the tenant in your room had his kidney removed."

"What?!" Hearing this, the woman's eyes widened suddenly. She was stunned for a long time, and then she shouted: "This is impossible! No one rented this house yesterday!"

Hearing this, everyone who was working raised their heads and looked at each other, all of them were a little confused and surprised.

Quentin couldn't help but say, "Sister, are you remembering correctly? That person was really found in your room. Look, there is blood on the coffee table!"

"I didn't!" The woman only dared to glance at him and turned back quickly: "Comrade police, this house really wasn't rented out yesterday! I don't know how he got in!"

"Are you sure this house isn't rented out?"

"Of course, if you don't believe me, just look..." the woman said, taking out a notebook from her handbag. She quickly flipped to a certain page, pointed at it and said, "Look, police comrade, here, 301, no one rented it yesterday!..."

Several people looked at Zhou Xueyan's rental record together, and saw that the column for 301 yesterday was smeared, but it should not have been rented out after all.

Sean noticed the crossed-out contact information and pointed at it and asked, "Why was this crossed out?"

"Oh, this person called me the day before yesterday and booked this room for two days. He said he arrived at midnight yesterday and asked me to keep the room for him. But he called me again at around 9pm yesterday and said he couldn't come. How could I find someone so late at night? So this room is now empty." After Zhou Xueyan finished explaining, she added, "Comrade police officer, I didn't know someone was living in this room!"

"Who has the key to your house?"

"This house has two locks. I usually give tenants the key to one of the locks, and when no one is renting the house, I lock both locks. This house is rented daily, so it is impossible to change the locks every day."

"So how many locks did you lock yesterday?"

"Two..." Zhou Xueyan was so anxious that she almost cried: "Comrade police, I don't know how this guy got in, but I really didn't let him in!..."

Sean and Quentin exchanged glances - looking at Zhou Xueyan's expression, she didn't seem to be lying.

Sean turned his head and looked back at Zhou Xueyan: "Give us the contact information of the other tenants of the rooms here yesterday. Also," he paused and added: "Write down the phone number of the person who originally booked a room but canceled it."

Quentin took Zhou Xueyan to the side to take notes, while Jason walked to Sean's side.

"We checked and the blood on the table is human blood. The blood type matches Liu Yuxing's. There are no signs of prying on the doors and windows. The murderer and the victim should have opened the door to enter. The murderer was very careful and did not leave any related items in the house. Even the door handles and other places were wiped. There were only two bloody handprints on the refrigerator. We extracted a few fingerprints, but we are not sure whether they are from the murderer or the victim." Jason said, pointing to the coffee table: "There are also some traces on the 'operating table' that may be useful. We will know the details after we test it." He raised his chin in the direction of Zhou Xueyan: "How is it, what did she say over there?"

Sean shook his head: "Zhou Xueyan said she didn't rent the house to Liu Yuxing, and she didn't know how he got in." He paused and added: "The murderer had planned it in advance."

"He was deliberately trying to get Liu Yuxing's kidney." Jason said. He looked at the clean crime scene and said slowly: "I hope this is not an urban legend that has come true..."

The clues obtained from the on-site evidence collection were far less than everyone expected. After two hours of testing and collection, apart from collecting two bloody handprints and a few pools of blood, everyone found almost nothing. The murderer wiped out all the clues that could be traced, including surgical instruments, gauze, cotton, fingerprints, shoe prints... nothing was left. After a series of tests, even whether the murderer was a man or a woman, and how many people there were, could not be determined. His cunning and cautiousness far exceeded everyone's imagination.

"It seems that we can only seek clues outside now." Jason said to Sean: "I noticed when I came in just now that this community has installed surveillance cameras at the gate, and there should be surveillance cameras in the elevator as well. They should be able to capture the murderer coming in and out."

Sean nodded: "I will ask Quentin and others to go door to door to ask, hoping that someone has seen them."

After they finished talking, neither of them said anything else - since the murderer was able to be so thorough at the crime scene, there probably wouldn't be many clues obtained from the outside.

It turned out that Sean's estimate was quite accurate. Quentin and Chris asked all the residents on the 1st to 5th floors of the apartment, but unfortunately no one had seen the victim and the murderer. So the only hope left at the crime scene to see the murderer was the surveillance video of the community. Fortunately, the management of this community was normal. After some explanation, the property handed over the surveillance video of last night to the police. Cheng and Shen immediately drove back to the police station and handed the video to Henry. After some analysis and processing, they finally found some clues from the video.

"This is the surveillance video of the main entrance at 23:36 last night," Henry pointed at a blurry figure on the computer screen and said, "Do you think this looks like the victim?"

The two looked over together. In the night, a man and a woman appeared at the gate of the community. The man was hugging the woman, and they looked quite intimate. Cheng and Shen stared at the image and found that the man was indeed somewhat similar to Liu Yuxing. However, the picture in the camera was blurry, and the face was not very clear.

"Xiao Hao, can you make the image clearer?" Sean asked.

Henry shook his head: "This is already the clearest. Nowadays, the surveillance videos in the community have high requirements for light. Generally, they can be recorded very clearly during the day, but the effect will be much worse at night. This is because there is a light at the entrance of this community. If it is changed to a place without lights, I am afraid the effect will be worse than this.

"This should be basically confirmed." Jason said, "Among the evidence we brought back is the clothes Liu Yuxing was wearing at the time of the crime. I noticed that there was a very obvious luminous stripe on the outside of his shoes. This stripe will fluoresce in the dark." He pointed to the man's feet on the screen and said, "Look at his shoes."

Henry immediately replayed the video, and sure enough, he saw a faint spot of light on the outside of the man's shoe, flashing on the screen as the man walked.

After confirming this, the three of them turned their attention to the woman. She should be a thin woman. Liu Yuxing was as thin as a bamboo pole, but the woman standing next to Liu Yuxing did not seem fatter than him. The woman was wearing a hooded coat, which covered her head. From the time they walked into the camera to the time they walked out of the camera and entered the building, she had been leaning on Liu Yuxing's arms like a little bird, so the entire video did not capture any information about the woman's face.

Seeing the woman's actions, Sean frowned: "What time did she leave?"

"About three hours later." Henry checked the video and saw the woman's figure appear in the screen again. This time she was still wearing a hood and lowering her head, but the difference was that she was carrying a large bag on her back.

"It seems that she is carrying surgical instruments." Jason said to Sean.

Sean nodded, but his eyes did not leave the screen. He carefully watched the shot where the woman appeared. After confirming that the woman's face could not be seen, he said to Henry: "Xiao Hao, check the elevator surveillance video."

Henry shook his head: "I checked, they didn't take the elevator."

As he said this, he checked the elevator surveillance footage from the same period, and sure enough, he didn't see the two people.

"The crime scene was on the third floor, so it was normal for her to take the stairs." Jason said: "If she could avoid the surveillance cameras at the main door, she would definitely find a way to avoid the surveillance cameras in the elevator."

"From her actions, she probably knows where the surveillance camera is." Sean pointed at the camera and analyzed: "You see, when she enters and leaves the community, she almost always walks along the side of the gate. This angle is basically directly below the surveillance camera, which is the position that is least likely to be photographed. According to what Liu Yuxing said when he called the police, he said he was in an unfamiliar place, so I guess this place should be where this woman brought him." Sean stared at the blurred figure on the screen and frowned deeply: "It's just that we don't know whether she is only responsible for deceiving Liu Yuxing here, or if she is the one who cut off Liu Yuxing's kidney..."
