The Whispered Woes of Carter Chapter 45

The showers came in a hurry and suddenly stopped at dusk, leaving a lingering red color all over the ground. The shadows of the sun are slanted, the evening colors are rising, and the sound of dripping from the phoenix leaves fills the dark night with a sense of humidity.

Carter Chu pushed the door open and walked into the courtyard. He took out the green whistle from his sleeve to summon the black-feathered bird, stuffed a secret letter into the bamboo tube and let it fly away.

The leaves and branches of the phoenix tree were dark green. Suddenly, footsteps were heard in the silence, as if someone was walking quickly outside the courtyard, approaching from afar.

Carter Chu retracted her gaze from a distance and looked back inadvertently. There was a shadowy figure at the courtyard door, and suddenly a white shirt passed by, which was particularly conspicuous.

He frowned slightly, and in a blink of an eye he flashed behind the man, "...Master Su?"
