It was already past noon when Liam Wen arrived.
Alex Ye gets up late, almost at ten o'clock, to eat. He likes to sleep in on weekends and often eats breakfast and lunch together, two meals a day, and occasionally an extra meal in the evening.
Before coming, Liam Wen called him first. He was still lying in bed at that time. After hanging up the phone, he quickly got out of bed, brushed his teeth, washed his face, and simply cleaned the room.
"Ding Dong---"
The doorbell rang.
Alex Ye was picking up books on the coffee table. He heard the sound and opened the door. Ethan was standing at the door with a suitcase. Today he had changed out of his suit and was wearing a black casual outfit, which made his figure look even taller and more slender.
Unlike him, Alex Ye was still wearing his sleeping clothes and slippers, looking lazy and relaxed, as if he had just woken up.
"you..."
They both uttered the same word at the same time.
Alex Ye stepped aside to let him in, "Come in first."
After Ethan came in, she found the shoes he wore that night and gave them to him, then closed the door behind her.
Liam Wen pushed the suitcase into the living room and turned around to ask, "Have you eaten yet?"
"I have eaten." Alex Ye also asked: "How about you?"
Ethan also nodded and explained, "I was delayed this morning by something, so I came a little late."
"It doesn't matter when you come. I'll be home anyway, so don't be so polite." Alex Ye walked in front and opened the door of the second bedroom. He had just cleaned it in the morning, and there was still a faint smell of dust. He went in and opened the window a little wider. "No one has lived in this room, so it may need some ventilation. You take a rest first, and I'll show you other places."
Ethan also nodded, left the suitcase inside, and followed Alex Ye out.
The house has three bedrooms and a living room, including a master bedroom, a second bedroom, and a small study. Alex Ye lives alone, and the second bedroom has always been empty, usually used to store some sundries.
He first took Liam Wen to see the master bedroom and study. The master bedroom was in minimalist black, white and gray tones with gray wooden floors. The study was full of books, like a small library. Because they were all private spaces, Liam Wen just stood at the door and took a look without going in.
Next is the living room and balcony. Apart from large items like the sofa and coffee table, the rest of the living room is filled with miscellaneous things, just like the master bedroom.
The balcony is not very big and is surrounded by green. What catches the eye are several pots of hanging green ivy, with branches hanging down like waterfalls, lush and green. There is a Areca palm near the sliding door. In addition, there are several small flower pots filled with soil in the corner.
Liam Wen looked around. He was standing downstairs that night, looking at the figure on the balcony, and now he was also standing here, and was even about to live with the person in front of him.
"I used to grow some flowers, but now I only have these flower pots." Seeing him looking at the flower pots, Alex Ye said, "I'm not good at growing flowers. If you think it's messy, you can throw them away after I clean them up."
Not only is he not good at it, he is also a plant killer. When he first moved in, he raised a lot of flowers and green plants, but in the end only the green ivy survived. He never raised it again after that. The Areca palm was the one that Daniel Liang gave him last time.
Ethan also came to his senses and said it was okay, "Don't throw it away, you can plant it later."
"Hmm?" Alex Ye raised his eyebrows after hearing this, "You can also grow flowers?"
Ethan also nodded: "I have planted it before."
Alex Ye said, "Okay, then stay." He couldn't help but say, "You can cook and grow flowers, you know so many things." After saying that, he turned to the house and said, "Let's go, I'll help you clean up the room first."
"It doesn't matter." Liam Wen said, "I can do it myself. It doesn't take much."
Alex Ye didn't insist, "Then go ahead. I'm outside. Remember to call me if you need anything."
Ethan also went to clean up the room. The weather had cleared up recently. After watering the green plants on the balcony, Alex Ye returned to the living room and found a book to read.
He leaned back on the sofa, reading a book for a while, then looking towards the second bedroom, wondering whether he should add a desk to Liam Wen's room.
There was suddenly one more person in the house, but he didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Instead, he started thinking about what to eat in the evening and when to go to the supermarket.
As he was thinking, he dozed off unconsciously. When Liam Wen finished cleaning the room and came out, Alex Ye was already asleep on the sofa with his head tilted to one side. A thin blanket covered him, and a book with a few pages flipped through casually fell to his side.
Ethan did not wake him up. He walked over lightly, picked up the book beside him, put it back on the bookshelf in the corner, and tidied up the living room a little. The person on the sofa did not move at all during the whole process.
By the time he finished tidying up, the twilight gradually slanted into the house. The sunlight after the rain was not very strong, but it had a gentle orange color, reflecting on the glass sliding door.
Liam Wen came in from the kitchen and looked at the sofa. Alex Ye had turned over at some point and was lying on his side. A corner of the thin blanket fell to the ground, and his slender white wrist was also resting on the side.
He walked closer, went to the sofa, bent down to pick up the thin blanket, and covered him again. When he raised his eyes, his sight suddenly froze, and he stared quietly at the sleeping face.
Alex Ye's eyes were closed, and her hair was very soft. It was not as thick and ink-like as the night, but rather brown, which made her look very gentle. Her eyelashes were long and dense, casting a faint shadow, and her two light red lips were lightly pursed.
Ethan looked at it for a while, then unconsciously reached out his hand and slowly, slowly approached. Before his fingertips could brush the hair that slid to the brow, the butterfly-like eyelashes suddenly blinked lightly. He immediately retracted his hand as if he had been electrocuted, and hurriedly distanced himself before the person on the sofa woke up.
"How did I fall asleep..."
Alex Ye slowly opened his sleepy eyes, squinted his eyes, scratched his hair, lifted the thin blanket and slowly sat up.
This was not the first time this had happened. He often curled up on the sofa to read and take a nap. Sometimes he would watch movies until very late at night and even forget to go back to his room.
Alex Ye glanced at Liam Wen and slowly came back to his senses. "Have you finished cleaning?" After asking, he glanced at the sky outside and picked up his phone to check the time. "It's so late. It's time to cook."
"It will be ready soon." Liam Wen turned around and turned on the light in the living room. He suppressed the unnatural emotions in his eyes and said in a steady voice: "I saw that you were not awake yet, so I was just about to call you."
Alex Ye said "oh" in a daze. No wonder he had a vague feeling that someone was approaching him just now. It turned out to be Liam Wen who came to call him for dinner.
He stood up and tidied the sofa, only to find that the living room had been tidied and became much neater. It was obvious that Liam Wen had done it. Alex Ye smiled a little embarrassedly, "I asked you to cook on the first day I moved in. You've worked hard."
"It's okay." Ethan didn't even look at him, and walked towards the kitchen with his eyes downcast, "It's time to prepare dinner."
Alex Ye followed behind: "Let me help."
This was their second time eating together. Dinner was more sumptuous than supper, with a combination of meat and vegetables, one meat dish, one vegetable dish, and a soup, all very homely dishes.
There was no dining table, so they could only serve the food on the coffee table.
Alex Ye then remembered that he had moved in a hurry and had not had time to buy it. When he first moved, he thought that he would live alone and eat more casually, so he planned to find time to buy more, but it was delayed until now.
Liam Wen helped him to serve the rice. He took the rice bowl and said, "I will go to the furniture store tomorrow. I have been living alone and didn't pay attention. It's a good opportunity to add a desk to your room."
Ethan wanted to say no, but the words came to his lips and changed to: "Then I will go with you."
Then he said, "Let me buy it."
Alex Ye was eating rice, but when he heard this, he put down his chopsticks and looked up at him: "How can I let you buy it? After all, I am half a landlord. Since it is my house, I should be the one to buy things."
"I'd better buy it." Liam Wen continued to insist: "If I don't move in, you don't need to buy anything else, and I might bother you for a long time."
Seeing his stern expression, Alex Ye moved his lips, wanted to say something but swallowed it back, with a helpless smile on his lips.
He had no choice but to agree: "Okay, let's go buy it together tomorrow."
He knew that Liam Wen was embarrassed. To Liam Wen, he was his boss who took him in. Although he now had the identity of a friend, it still could not change the fact that he was his boss.
Maybe that would make him feel more comfortable.
Unexpectedly, Liam Wen continued: "In addition, there is rent, I think..."
Alex Ye interrupted him directly: "You are too polite to me."
He looked at the young man opposite him, still smiling, but speaking in a serious tone: "You know, I didn't let you move in just for the rent."
"Yeah, I know." Liam Wen responded softly, and then spoke again: "But, I..."
"How about this." Guessing what he wanted to say, Alex Ye took over the conversation before him: "You cook for me in the future and use it as collateral for the rent, how about that?"
After saying that, she looked at him intently, waiting for his answer.
It just so happened that he didn't want to move around at home on the weekends, nor did he want to eat takeout every day. Liam Wen was a good cook and the meals he made were all to his taste, so leaving the cooking task to him wouldn't make him feel too guilty.
Liam Wen served him some soup, paused for a moment, and then responded.
"good."
Hearing his agreement, Alex Ye breathed a sigh of relief. He picked up the bowl and drank a sip of soup. "It seems that there is no food in the refrigerator. Let's go buy some together when the time comes?"
Ethan also nodded: "Yeah."
After dinner, it was already late, so I had to wait until tomorrow to go to the supermarket.
Ethan also insisted that he wash the dishes on the grounds of rent. Alex Ye helped to tidy up the coffee table, took a look into the kitchen, and turned to go to the bathroom to take a shower.
There are two bathrooms in this house, the master bathroom and the guest bathroom. Alex Ye installed a bathtub in the master bathroom. He usually only washes in the master bathroom and rarely uses the guest bathroom.
He likes to take a bath, sometimes staying in it for an hour. When he comes out, the lights in the kitchen and living room have been turned off, leaving only the second bedroom and guest bathroom with lights on.
He went out, wiping his hair, and didn't see Liam Wen in the second bedroom. He took two more steps and found that the door of the guest bathroom was not closed, and Liam Wen was doing something with his back to him.
Alex Ye poked his head out and asked, "What's wrong?"
Ethan also said: "There is no hot water."
"No hot water?" Alex Ye walked in, "Let me take a look."
After entering, Alex Ye noticed that Ethan had taken off his coat and was only wearing a short-sleeved shirt. His chest, supported by the fabric, was firm and broad, and it was obvious that he exercised regularly.
"It seems to be broken. Maybe it has not been used for a long time." Alex Ye stood in front of him and checked it. He could not find any problem. "I will call the technician to come and fix it tomorrow."
Ethan also nodded, but his eyes were fixed on the white neck. He was very close to the person in front of him, and it seemed that he could still smell the faint scent of shampoo on his hair, like some kind of floral scent, slightly sweet.
"You can go to my place to take a shower tonight."
Alex Ye turned around while speaking, not paying attention behind him, and suddenly bumped into Liam Wen, hitting his forehead. He gasped and subconsciously took a step back.
Ethan also heard the sound and lowered his head to ask, "Are you okay?"
His gaze fell on Alex Ye's forehead, a hint of nervousness flashed in his eyes, and he subconsciously wanted to reach out his hand, but saw Alex Ye rubbing his forehead. His fingertips paused in the air for a moment, then curled up slightly and slowly fell down.
"It's okay." Alex Ye shook his head and continued to rub, "It's just a bump, it's nothing, go wash it first."
Liam Wen still lowered his eyes to look at him, and the hand hanging by his side couldn't help but raise a little bit, the veins on the back of his hand tightened, and the curve revealed a hint of hesitation.
Seeing that he didn't move, Alex Ye waved and urged him, "Go quickly."
Liam Wen then moved away, and when he reached the door, he looked back and stopped for a moment. Seeing that he was really fine, he took the clothes and went into the bathroom of the master bedroom.
Alex Ye followed behind and looked at the tall figure, unable to help but thinking with envy.
Nice body.
