"beep---"
The outgoing call rang for a while, then was hung up and a prompt sound was heard.
"Hello, the user you are calling is busy. Please try again later."
It was very quiet, with only the light on in the living room, and the sound echoing in the empty house.
Liam Wen was sitting alone on the sofa, wiping his freshly washed hair. There was no response on the phone. He went back to the page and clicked into VX, staring at the avatars in the list.
Alex Ye’s profile picture is a desk in the magazine department. There are only a few posts on his Moments, most of which are related to “LIGHT” and various photos taken during the fashion week. It is obvious that this is a VX account used for both work and personal purposes.
He said he would come back early, but he didn't even answer the phone.
Ethan also looked at it for a while, his fingertips paused on the input box. Their conversation was still stuck on the last time. He couldn't help but ask, "Is it inconvenient to answer the phone?" He paused, deleted the words one by one, changed it to "When will you be back", deleted it again, and finally typed "Are you coming back?"
After clicking send, Liam Wen held the phone and waited silently. Just like the outgoing call, the message did not receive a reply for a long time. He long-pressed the button to withdraw the message. His finger hovered on the screen for a moment, hesitating before finally retracting it.
Maybe the other person is with someone else right now and has no time to look at his or her phone.
Thinking of this, Liam Wen pressed his brows with a hint of annoyance, threw his phone aside, went into the room, changed into clothes suitable for night running, and planned to go downstairs to get some fresh air.
When he came out after changing, Liam Wen picked up his phone and looked at it again. There was still no reply. He was silent for a while and left the phone on the coffee table in the living room.
He walked to the door, turned off the lights in the living room, opened the door, and grasped the door handle with his hand. After a moment, he turned back into the house, and as if he was afraid of missing something, he put the phone down and put it in his pocket.
On a clear night, the sky is high and far away, and the road surface is still hot after dark.
Liam Wen ran around the periphery of the community, but there was still no response from his phone. No messages or calls were returned. Just when he was wondering if Alex Ye was drunk, he saw a car parked downstairs in the community from a distance.
The car door was open on one side, and a man was standing outside, bending over to support the person inside the car. The man wore a pair of thin-rimmed glasses and looked to be in his forties. His back looked familiar.
Ethan also trotted over, and after seeing who it was, he slowed down and called out, "Editor-in-Chief Liang."
Then he lowered his gaze and looked inside the car. The person in the back seat was currently leaning halfway against the seat, his eyes were hazy, his face was flushed, and he was obviously very drunk.
"It's you." Turning around and seeing that it was Liam Wen, Daniel Liang said, "Your editor-in-chief Ye is drunk, I'm sending him back." Then he looked him up and down, "You live here too?"
Ethan also hummed, his eyes fell on Alex Ye, and he took a step forward, "I'll take Editor-in-Chief Ye upstairs."
Daniel Liang had just held Alex Ye's arm, and when he heard what he said, he turned around and asked him, "Do you know where your editor-in-chief Ye lives?"
Ethan also nodded.
Not only know, but also live together.
Daniel Liang added: "The password to his home..."
Liam Wen took over the conversation: "I know."
Daniel Liang looked at him, then at Alex Ye, and a vague guess popped up in his mind. He had to rush back to the hotel and had no time to think about it. He agreed without thinking too much, "Okay, thank you for your help."
After leaving the hotel, Alex Ye got into the car and leaned back in the seat. Under the numbness of alcohol, his head became heavier and heavier, his eyes became increasingly cloudy, and his vision became blurred.
He tilted his head and dozed off for a while. He didn't know when the car stopped. In a daze, he saw Daniel Liang waved at him and said that he was leaving first. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something but couldn't. He only felt someone holding his arm and walking forward step by step.
Liam Wen helped the person into the elevator. Alex Ye kept his eyes closed the whole time, leaning his head against his neck. Some people would have endless things to say when they are drunk, but he was very quiet, with a blush on his cheeks, drooping eyelashes, and reeking of alcohol. He was as well-behaved as a child.
Liam Wen lowered his eyes and glanced at him. The annoyance he had just felt from waiting for so long was swept away. He could only sigh helplessly. He had clearly told him to drink less before leaving, but he ended up drinking like this.
The elevator arrived, and he helped the man out. When he reached the door, he gently called out, "Senior?" while entering the password. Seeing that he still had his eyes closed, he pushed the door open and said, "We're home."
Alex Ye replied in a daze: "Hmm..."
Liam Wen closed the door, turned on the light, changed his shoes, and helped the man to the sofa. Alex Ye fell directly on it as if he had no bones. The sofa was big and soft. When he lay down, he curled up slightly and huddled into a ball, just like a lazy cat.
"Senior?" Liam Wen called out again. Fearing that he had fallen asleep, he bent down and gently patted his shoulder. "Leave a while alone. I'll make you a cup of honey water."
Not knowing whether he heard it or not, Ethan stood up, took two steps and looked back. Seeing Alex Ye curled up in the corner of the sofa, motionless, he turned around and went into the kitchen with relief.
On the sofa, Alex Ye blinked his long and dense eyelashes, frowned slightly, his throat was dry, and he subconsciously twisted his neck to loosen his tie.
So, when Liam Wen came out with a cup of water, Alex Ye was not asleep. Instead, he sat up, leaning against the sofa, with his eyes slightly open. His tie became wrinkled and hung loosely.
Seeing him, Alex Ye slowly raised his eyelids, frowned slightly, and moved his lips: "I want to drink... water..."
Even when drunk, those eyes were as if soaked in starlight. When they looked at people, it was like a cool spring under the moonlight, looking into people's hearts at a glance.
Liam Wen only looked at each other for a moment, then looked away, bringing the cup of water with a straw to Alex Ye's lips, holding the cup with one hand, and with the other hand he lifted him up and gently stroked his back.
Say in a coaxing tone like a child: "Don't worry, drink slowly."
Alex Ye finally quenched his thirst after drinking almost the bottom of the honey water in the cup. He licked his lower lips. His lips were thin, but after being moistened by water, they looked gorgeous and K!ssable.
Liam Wen lowered his eyelashes and tightened his throat unconsciously. Realizing that they were too close, he withdrew his hand from his back. Just as he was about to distance himself, the person next to him seemed to lose his support and leaned towards him.
Seeing him pulling at his tie, Liam Wen paused, held him and asked, "What's wrong?"
Alex Ye groaned in discomfort and finally pulled off the tie around his neck. His clothes were stained with alcohol and sweat, and they were sticky on his body. He supported himself on the sofa and stood up shakily, muttering, "I'm going to take a shower..."
Liam Wen quickly put down the cup, stood up and supported him, "Now? You rest for a while, I'll help you get some hot water."
Alex Ye walked towards the bathroom and repeated, "I want to take a shower..."
The voice sounded somewhat childish.
Ethan had no choice but to take him into the bathroom of the master bedroom. He turned on the light and asked Alex Ye to wait for him. He ran some hot water and tested the water temperature. When he looked back, he found that Alex Ye had taken off his coat at some point and was now unbuttoning his shirt with his head down.
The hem of her shirt was tucked up, outlining her slender waist. Alex Ye tried to unbutton it randomly, but couldn't get it untied.
He undressed for a while, frowning his pretty eyebrows, and had to ask for help from another person in the bathroom, "Liam Wen, help me..."
Despite having drunk alcohol, his pronunciation was still clear, and his voice was not as gentle and warm as usual. It sounded a little soft when you listened carefully, as if you had eaten a sweet candy.
And, remember his name...
Liam Wen looked away a little unnaturally, water drops dripping down his fingertips. He saw Alex Ye looking up at him, meeting his eyes, his deep eyes showing seriousness: "Do you really want me to help you?"
Alex Ye did not answer him, but frowned and muttered: "I can't solve it..."
After all, he was drunk, so Ethan did not ask him any more questions. She walked up to him and lowered her eyes to help him unbutton his shirt. Her slender fingers moved flexibly, and every time she unbuttoned a button, a piece of snow-white skin was exposed. Because he was drunk, his skin color was slightly pink. Her fingertips inadvertently swept across it, and Ethan, who was unbuttoning the buttons, could not help but pause suddenly.
Alex Ye's hands were hanging by his side. Seeing him stop, he asked blankly, "Are you done?"
"Okay." Liam Wen lowered his eyes the whole time. After he finished, he quickly withdrew his hand and wiped it past him. "Wait a moment, I'll get you pajamas."
Alex Ye nodded after hearing what he said.
When Ethan came out with his pajamas, the bathroom door was already closed. He could faintly hear the sound of water coming from inside. Maybe he really felt uncomfortable, so he was in such a hurry to take a shower.
Who would have thought that their seemingly sloppy Editor-in-Chief Ye was actually a person with a mild mysophobia.
Liam Wen pulled his lip helplessly, and without opening the door to go in, he put his pajamas at the door and knocked on the door with his fingers, "I put it outside the door, remember to take it when you finish washing it."
After saying that, he stood at the door for a while. After hearing the person inside respond, he turned around and walked out of the master bedroom.
Back in the living room, Liam Wen took the used cup into the kitchen, washed it, put it in the cupboard, opened the refrigerator next to him, and took out a can of cold beer.
Thinking of those two moist lips and the vaguely visible scenery under the shirt, his eyes darkened slightly. He pulled the pull ring of the beer, tilted his head back and took a big sip.
Worried that Alex Ye would stay in the bathroom for too long, Liam Wen stayed in the kitchen alone for a while and then returned to the living room. He moved the computer to the table in the living room and wrote the manuscript while keeping an eye on the direction of the master bedroom.
Halfway through writing, he heard the sound of the bathroom door opening. It seemed that Alex Ye came out to get his pajamas. The noise was not loud, and Ethan was concentrating on staring at the computer and didn't turn around to look.
After a while, Alex Ye came out of the bathroom again. His hands typing on the keyboard paused for a moment, and he turned his head towards the master bedroom. The other party did not walk out of the room, and it seemed that he went straight to sleep.
Ethan was distracted in front of the computer for a while, but in the end he did not get up until almost dawn. When he finished the manuscript and returned to his room to rest, he passed by Alex Ye's room and took a look.
The door was half open, and the person inside should have fallen asleep. He hesitated and reached for the doorknob. Light shone into the room through the crack in the door, and he could vaguely see a figure curled up on the bed, with the quilt slipping to one side, revealing a white and smooth ankle.
Ben just wanted to help close the door. Liam Wen stood there and looked for a while, hesitated for a moment, and then walked in lightly.
He walked to the bed, pulled the quilt on one side and carefully covered Alex Ye with it. After covering him, he pinched the corner of the quilt.
The person on the bed had fallen into a deep sleep, with a pair of eyes tightly closed. The silvery moonlight poured in from the window, illuminating the gentle face, and the distinct eyelashes cast a faint shadow.
Liam Wen bent over and paused, and couldn't help but reach out. When she was about to touch his cheek, she curled her fingertips slightly, and restrainedly brushed the soft hair that fell down on his forehead.
