Ella Jiang took a sip from the paper cup he handed her. The temperature was just right. She swallowed the water and suddenly realized that her son had always been like this over the years. He didn't talk much, but he always took good care of people. It was because he was so good and so calm that sometimes even she would forget that he was not that old.
"Have you taken the medicine?" Kevin Jiang sat with her for a while and asked in a deep voice.
Ella Jiang nodded: "I ate one before coming here."
The communication between mother and son always seemed to be like this. Kevin Jiang was not good at chatting, comforting, or finding topics to make people relax and happy. He always stayed silently where she could reach him, like a steady and speechless shadow.
Ella Jiang stared at the shadow of his feet for a long time, and suddenly heard him ask: "How was the game?"
