Top And Crown Chapter 6

Ethan Huo felt that there were indeed many hidden talents here.

In comparison, the label of top scorer in the high school entrance examination... is basically not worth mentioning.

He stared at the grand piano for a while and said honestly, "I want to learn from you."

"But there is a prerequisite." The boy said: "I don't teach idiots."

Ethan Huo laughed: "I'm not stupid."

"That's up to me." The boy frowned, "If you show even a little bit of stupidity, I won't bother to teach you anymore."

"Good teacher."

"It's Teacher Bo," the man corrected, "My name is Connor."

He took out a navy blue headband to tie up his long hair and said seriously, "Let's try a lesson today."

Connor came in with a registration form. He casually turned his registration form over and drew a line of five-line staff on the white background. He was not worried at all about being scolded by the teacher.

Seeing his casual attitude towards the application form, Ethan Huo probably knew that he was the 'internal recruit' as those people called him.

I guess it’s a Buddha that the company requested to be invited in.

After drawing the five-line score, this Buddha who can play the piano began to explain the introductory music theory, from time values   to solfeggios and note names to various symbols. Without giving the teacher time to pause and digest, he began to explain the key positions on the piano, and his speech was as fast as if he was reciting a recipe.

After he finished speaking, he raised his eyebrows at Ethan Huo, as if he was serious but also perfunctory: "What didn't you understand?"

"No." Ethan Huo said, "I understand everything."

Connor had a look on his face that said "as expected". He turned his ballpoint pen and drew a line of five-line music on the back of the registration form, then added a few tadpoles: "Read it out."

Ethan Huo already had the corresponding image in his mind, so he just followed the annotations next to the notes and read: "do, sol, fa, si."

Connor didn't believe it, so he turned the cap of his ballpoint pen and pointed it at the piano keys: "Play the chord of D major."

Ethan Huo imitated his posture and pressed his ten hands on the white keys again, tapping them one finger at a time, like a clockwork puppet.

Connor looked at him and felt confused: "The brain is quite smart, but the hands are clumsy."

"So are you still going to teach?"

Connor thought for a moment, then turned around and went to a nearby music room to flip through a copy of "Little Thompson Volume 1" printed with cartoon dwarfs. He spread the book out like ramen noodles on the music stand and said seriously, "Look at my hands, not the music score, and remember the movements of my wrists and fingers."

Then the talented performer actually began to play the introductory teaching materials for children for him, with a serious attitude as if he was performing a performance.

The first few pages of the music have only one or two notes in each measure, but as time goes on, there are more and more notes, and the music gradually has a melody. They are all nursery rhymes in the cartoon rocking cars at the entrance of the supermarket.

When Connor was teaching the piano, he didn't really care about other people's reactions. He played one page after another, from "Grandpa's Big Clock" to the last page of "Princess Waltz". In the middle, a few trainees who passed by stopped and looked in curiously, but the two of them didn't notice at all.

The boy looked up at him: "Do you find it difficult?"

Ethan Huo paused for a moment, went over all the images in his mind, and confirmed: "It seems that you don't even need to play with both hands?"

"The first book is all like this." Connor handed him the book: "Meet here at 8 o'clock tomorrow night, practice on your own."

"good."

When the two were about to part, Ethan Huo remembered the registration form: "What do you plan to choose?"

Connor was still looking at the musical notation on the back of the registration form: "Whatever."

Ethan Huo was not in the same group as him, so he was very cautious when making decisions.

Although this company claims in meetings that "all trainees compete fairly," many people have studied vocal music and dancing for several years before coming in, so their starting lines are different from the beginning.

He minimized his own presence and started to build a data file in his mind, identifying all his opponents in the same group one by one by comparing their appearances and names, and began to pre-rank them as much as possible.

You must find your own position and see the threats and gaps clearly.

Seeing that the kid was taciturn, the other three people in the dormitory didn't talk to him much. He was practicing the street dance he had learned before in front of the mirror late at night, shaking his H!ps while chatting about the latest gossip in the entertainment industry.

The first main class on the second day was dance, which lasted for two full hours without a break.

When Ethan Huo arrived at the classroom, he felt that the atmosphere was not right.

Not only were there a group of students surrounding one person asking for an autograph, but even the two teaching assistants he had seen earlier looked nervous and shy, holding notebooks and covering their mouths with their hands while laughing.

He walked around them to find his own place to stand, and when he looked up he could clearly see the face of the person in the middle.

Patrick Pei.

The same guy who picked him up in the parking lot that day.

When the bell rang, Pei Ru clapped her hands, and the teaching assistant shouted, "It's time for class. Put away all irrelevant things and go back!"

The trainees stood apart, looking at the others through the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, their expressions somewhat unnatural.

"Head coach Pei is here to give the class today," the assistant coach said, "He has the power of veto, so you better pay close attention!"

Pei Ru also nodded, not planning to give a lecture at all. She looked at the teaching assistant and said, "Give them some skipping ropes."

As soon as the word "skipping rope" came out, some people's faces turned pale, obviously recalling the extremely long and painful morning of the screening test.

The teaching assistants led the students to move the boxes over and returned the jump ropes to their hands.

"I also set the dance questions for the final assessment." Pei Ru also said calmly: "Four thousand in one hour, you can dance in any way you want."

He waved his hand, sat back on the sofa in the corner of the practice room and started playing with his phone, his long, straight legs casually crossed, without saying a word.

Everyone looked at him with an expression of "Are you kidding us?" and some people just started skipping rope.

Ethan Huo thought that he had been skipping rope for paid money at the company in the past few months. He checked the time and began to skip rope slowly, controlling his breathing and physical exertion.

He can't even jump continuously for an hour now, which is far from the passing line.

Ethan Huo did not take the initiative to talk to Patrick Pei. Patrick Pei was playing with her mobile phone in the corner the whole time. She only glanced at him when the countdown to resurrection started, and then continued to concentrate on playing games.

These two hours felt extremely long and most people couldn't hold on.

They didn't dare to slack off or chat in front of Teacher Pei, so they just jumped intermittently, or pretended to stretch and relax to buy time.

Ethan Huo's forehead and back were covered in sweat from jumping, and after thirty minutes his calves were almost numb.

There was an assistant teacher who seemed to want to prove something. He watched from the side for a while, then took a skipping rope and stood in front.

When she jumped, her body felt so light as if it had no weight at all. She could control her rising and falling at will, and she could swing the rope so quickly without any delay.

All the boys looked over and subconsciously let out a few exclamations.

Ethan Huo was still ranking the physical strength of the other people in the training room, and had placed himself around twelfth place.

When the thirty minutes were up, the teacher stopped moving and showed them the counter on the rope.

Twenty-five hundred in half an hour.

"Oh My God..."

"Teacher, you are a god, right?! How long have you been practicing?"

"What on earth is the purpose of practicing this?" One boy was already getting annoyed: "Isn't this a dance class?"

The teaching assistant took the towel and wiped his sweat, then glanced at the boy.

"If you don't have this much physical strength and lung capacity, don't even think about singing and dancing for two hours at a concert."

After the two classes were over, Pei Ru put away his phone and left. The teaching assistants said hello and left one after another. The other students followed suit, and only a few stayed to continue jumping rope.

Ethan Huo danced for the entire two hours and felt a little depressed.

Even if he tried his best in two hours, he could only reach 2,000, which was not enough.

The vocal lesson is a theory lesson, and the stage performance will not be until next week.

After locking up his vocal class notes, Ethan Huo went to the training room, completed four thousand jump ropes, washed up, and went to the piano room.

He had limited time and needed to go over all the notes again.

It's not difficult to play quarter notes, eighth notes, and sixteenth notes separately.

The problem is that he has a photographic memory, but it's limited to his brain, not his body.

The coordination of the ten fingers and the coordination of the joints of the limbs all require repetitive training.

He closed his eyes and repeated what Connor had taught him yesterday, and then began to practice the piano by following the picture.

The piano room is small and not very breathable. Today, I can hear the chaotic piano sounds of the practitioners in front and behind me, all accompanied by the latest fashionable pop music.

There was also someone singing at the top of his lungs, the rhythm rising and falling with the sound of the piano, and one could hear his ease and happiness through the walls.

Ethan Huo was surrounded by a group of seniors, and continued to follow the content of Connor's yesterday to finish learning this children's introductory course, and polished the parts that were not smooth. He patiently and seriously played more than a dozen nursery rhymes, feeling a little happy.

The piano is so nice.

Connor knocked on the door from behind: "Come out and change to the next one."

Ethan Huo turned his head to look at him, not noticing when he came: "Are you not going to check?"

"You can tell by listening to the keystrokes." Connor thought thoughtfully, "Your hands are still quite clumsy. You need to practice more."

He walked in and asked Ethan Huo to play the last song again, feeling a little puzzled.

"The wrist and shoulder control is correct. Most people will stumble here the first few times."

Ethan Huo didn't explain, just smiled and said thank you.

Connor turned around and went out to walk around the music score room, then handed him another book with cartoon patterns on it.

Ethan Huo originally thought that he was going to learn "Little Thompson 2" next, but when he took the book and looked at it, he found that it was "Czerny 599".

"Remember the wrist and keystroke gestures. I've given you the book." Connor said in a businesslike manner, "I'll go back to class. You can practice as much as you can in the book. I'll come back to check at the same time tomorrow."

After saying that, he turned and left, as if the subtext was that if you asked one more question, you would be a fool.

When Ethan Huo saw his long hair spreading out like a waterfall and his thin white neck like a swan, he suddenly thought of something else.

Everyone else has short hair, but he is the only one with hair longer than his waist. He is probably the most outstanding one when dancing.

Ethan Huo had never learned piano before. He finally got the chance to be taught by a teacher. He read the book until half the night.

Czerny 599 is a good book. The title page says that the author is Beethoven's student and Liszt's teacher. He has seen these two names in music books.

The book not only marks the gestures and techniques, but also clearly indicates which fingers play certain notes.

It’s strange that some notes can be played with the index finger, but the most clumsy and stiff ring finger has to be mobilized.

Ethan Huo played the guitar until three or four in the morning, and finally fell asleep in a corner with a book in his arms.

His teammates were a little anxious when they woke him up, but when they knocked on the door, they were so happy that they almost jumped up: "Let's go, let's change classes today, let's go out and perform!"

"Today?" Ethan Huo was still in the dark and vaguely saw that the time was 6:30 in the morning: "Shall we go to the performance?"

"No, Teacher Zhou is taking us to the suburbs to attend the Kiwi Music Festival. Hurry up!"
