The Diary of Ava Alicia
February 23
Max has just left. Now I am alone. I must finish this diary as soon as possible. I am running out of time. I must write it down while I still have some strength.
At first I thought I was crazy. It was easier to think I was crazy than to believe it was true. But I wasn't crazy. I wasn't.
The first time I saw him in the treatment room, I was unsure...there was something about him that was familiar to me, but different...I recognized his eyes, not just their color, but their shape. The same smell of cigarettes and smoky aftershave. And the way he phrased his words and the rhythm of his speech...but the intonation was wrong, and it just didn't seem right to me. So I was unsure...but the second time we met, he gave himself up. He used the same words...the same words he had used in the house, and it made a deep impression on me. "I want to help you...I want to help you see."
