In the early and mid-1990s, there were two major professions that could not be ignored. One was gangsters, who often appeared in entertainment venues such as nightclubs; the other was thieves, who operated in shopping malls and train stations.
Zhou Yan parked the car in the parking lot. Lucas Shen and the other man got out of the car. Seeing that there was still more than an hour left, they walked to the exit, lit a cigarette, and then squatted down against the wall. The sunlight shone on them, making them feel warm.
"What a nice day!" Lucas Shen lazily sat on the ground. "Last night the snow started to fall so hard that I thought it was going to snow again, but it only snowed for a while."
Zhou Yan looked up at the clear blue sky. "It's already March. It's been cold for a few days. Even if it snows, it won't be a heavy snow."
Lucas Shen looked at the bustling crowd with boredom, and a thin man in a baggy suit came into view. The guy had a briefcase under his armpit, a cigarette in his mouth, and a big back hair, which seemed to be waxed, and shiny in the sun.
