The staff quarters of the institute were filled with joy, just like during the Chinese New Year. The sounds of frying, stir-frying and deep-frying could be heard from every household’s kitchen, and all kinds of aromas filled the corridors.
Lucas Shen, Wu Hongyu, Banon, and Duan Zhengqu, who came along for a free meal, smelled all sorts of aromas as soon as they entered the unit door.
As he walked up the stairs and passed by the doors of each house, he heard children making noises, women shouting, men laughing, and the clanging of pots and pans. A smile appeared on Bannon's face.
"It smells so good! It hasn't been this lively during the Chinese New Year in years." Banon took a deep breath and suddenly his eyes became moist.
Lucas Shen said: "I can't control others, but if you follow me, I promise that your life will get better and better in the future."
