When Emma Chen was a junior in college, she worked with her supervisor on an NGO project about rebellious teenagers. Those few months were a nightmare for her, as she was exhausted and unable to break out of the vicious circle.
Teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 are really difficult to deal with. The onset of puberty gives them a strong drive to break free from constraints and pursue independence, freedom and self. At the same time, they do not have the realistic conditions to make a living and cannot really break away from their parents' upbringing, or to be more precise, constraints.
Their thoughts are whimsical and fanciful. Because they have no practical experience, they often have many unrealistic, naive and arrogant ideas that are unable to see clearly into their own eyes.
They always think that they are the center of the world. They are giants in thought but dwarfs in action, so much so that Emma Chen finds it very difficult to work with them.
Corresponding to the schools in this system, these 16 or 17-year-old teenagers are more self-centered and their behavior is characterized by a naive cruelty, or it can be said to be the uncivilized evil that comes from deep within their hearts.
