Ethan He felt even more sad when he saw the stack of change in his father's hand that he had saved for who knows how long. He grabbed his father's hand and stuffed it back: "Don't take it. I'll pay for the taxi fare."
After hailing a taxi, Ethan He opened the back door and let his father get in first. He then put his suitcase in the back of the car and followed him in, sitting side by side with his father.
"Have you eaten?" Ethan He asked him.
"No, I'm waiting for you to come and eat together." said his father.
"Why are you waiting for me? I won't starve myself." Ethan He looked at the time and it was already half past eight when he got home. It was okay for him, as he was busy at school and had dinner late, but his parents were retired and usually had dinner at around five in the evening. In order to wait for him, the two old people were hungry until eight o'clock. Ethan He felt uncomfortable again when he thought about it.
