Zhang Daoting wore a cassock and used a needle to touch the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hands and feet of the statue. He then used a brush dipped in cinnabar to touch the five facial features again, meaning to open up the mind and communicate with the spirit.
The believers were kneeling on the prayer benches on both sides. Because the side hall was relatively small, there were many people outside, including believers and onlookers.
The last consecration ceremony was held by Oliver Xie himself, and this time it was on a larger scale, so many smaller statues of gods were placed on the altar.
Baoyang Temple does not have a distribution center for Buddhist scriptures, but based on the requests of many believers, some small statues customized by local factories were placed in this consecration ceremony. They will be imbued with spiritual energy during the consecration ceremony and can be passed on to believers afterwards.
