The length of staffs varies. Long staffs use more materials, but this does not mean that the longer the staff, the more powerful it is.
It depends on what material the staff itself is made of.
Some magic materials are intentionally made into very long wands, but the effect is not as good as short wands.
The difference in manufacturing concepts will affect the quality of the staff.
Many alchemists only know the results but not the reasons.
