A hailstorm covered most of Yunzhong County.
After the natural disaster, without the need for orders from the prefectural government, agricultural officials in the county were dispatched to each township, and brought along the treasurers and farmers to survey the fields, record the extent of the damage, and then compiled them into a book, which was sent to Yunzhong City as quickly as possible.
Shaling and Yangshou counties were the worst hit, with farmland production cuts expected to exceed 60%. Other counties were also affected, with production cuts ranging from 30% to 40%.
The disaster in the border counties was reported to Chang'an, and the emperor quickly issued an edict to exempt all land taxes in the affected counties.
A notice was posted in Yunzhong City, and the village elders and Li Tian were summoned to the official temple to convey the imperial decree. As everyone returned to the village to gather, the news spread quickly, and the dark clouds that had been weighing on the heads of the border residents finally dissipated for the most part.
