On the top of the mountain without any interference from artificial light, the stars were like misty white fog diffused in the lavender sky. The starlight was distant and vast. Ethan Bai jumped down and snuggled up to Hunter Lang, looking at the stars on a flat stone.
The night wind descended from the sky, ruffling their fur. Hunter Lang lowered his head from time to time, using the tip of his tongue and nose to help Ethan Bai smooth out her raised rabbit fur, like a boy gently helping his lover tuck away the loose hair around his ears.
Ethan Bai jumped around Hunter Lang, bumping into him here and there. His heart softened when he thought that this was his little wolf.
In the second half of the night, there were more and more mosquitoes. Hunter Lang picked up Ethan Bai and placed her between his two front legs and chest and abdomen to protect her. He swung his tail to drive away the mosquitoes until his tail felt sore. Then he carried Ethan Bai back the same way. He ran faster when going down the mountain than when going up. Ethan Bai's rabbit ears were both bent backwards and pressed against her head by the wind. Only when Hunter Lang slowed down would the two ears stand up.
Running fast in the mountains under the moonlight was very refreshing. Hunter Lang was so excited that he howled at the moon: "Woo-oo-oo-oo!"
