A few days before New Year's Eve, there was a heavy snowfall in the city where Ethan Bai lived.
The fallen snow on the sidewalk could easily cover the ankles when it just stopped snowing, but a day later it was trampled into slippery paths. The cold wind blew up the snow on the treetops and scraped across the ground like a knife, raising white mist. Pedestrians on the road walked quickly with their necks and hands tucked in, and the exposed nose tips and earlobes were frozen red.
Ethan Bai was afraid of the cold, so he stayed at home nine out of ten days after the winter vacation at No. 2 Middle School began. He left all the errands that required going out to Hunter Lang. After all, dogs have always loved outdoor activities, and they would feel uncomfortable if they didn't run around outside for a day. Even on cold days, they didn't think going out was a chore.
That day, Ethan Bai was tormented by the energetic little wolf from the evening until after nine o'clock. After they had their fun, they took a shower and were lying on the bed hugging each other when Ethan Bai suddenly heard a series of gurgling sounds from her stomach.
Hunter Lang heard it and smiled: "You must be hungry. Let me take you to have barbecue."
