Ethan knocked down the zombie that was rushing towards him with a stick, and smashed the iron pipe down on its head. The dull sound of the skull breaking came through the flesh. Naomi Gao shivered just by listening to it and didn't dare to get close.

Ethan rubbed his numb wrist and reached out to Naomi Gao, who was looking pale, "Let's go. Blake Song and the others are heading towards the sports building. Let's follow them."

Naomi Gao asked tearfully, "Aren't you afraid?"

Ethan looked down at the zombie lying at his feet. Its face had been smashed and bloody, but its brain was not shattered. It lay on its back and twisted on the ground, making a strange roar. Ethan picked up the bent iron pipe and pushed it down hard. The iron pipe stabbed into the zombie's open mouth and nailed its deformed head to the ground.

Naomi Gao let out a low cry and hid behind Ethan, not daring to look at the corpse on the ground any longer.

"Actually, it's okay once you get used to it. And even if you're scared, you can't show it in front of girls. That would be too embarrassing." Ethan suppressed the trembling in his heart and forced a smile.

Naomi Gao burst out laughing, her curved eyebrows showing a hint of gentle relief under the street light.

"Mr. Lin, I actually wanted to ask you this just now."

"What?"

Naomi Gao squeezed her wrist, as if to prepare herself mentally, and asked in a low voice after a while: "What you got in the square... is the virus antibody, right?"

? !

The momentary look of surprise revealed the truth. By the time Ethan reacted, it was too late to cover it up. He was really not good at acting.

Naomi Gao was also a little panicked. She stared at the bloody iron pipe in Ethan's hand, as if she was afraid that Ethan would bite her as well: "I, I just asked casually... I guessed about the antibodies and stuff. Isn't that how it was played in the movies I watched before... Clara Zhou's Easter egg did say that... But it's right not to take out that kind of thing. After all, there are so many of us here, and the antibodies can only save one person. But if I get bitten..."

"Can... can you consider saving me?" Naomi Gao said, as if she was ashamed of her words, lowered her head and smiled bitterly, "Ah, don't mind, I was just talking casually, after all, it's yours, I just... just saw that person just now, I felt... too, too cruel, such a thing... if possible, no one wants to become a monster like that."

Ethan hummed softly, but a feeling of sadness lay in his heart.

No one wants to become a monster like that, not even him.

"I'm sorry. It's all because of me that you fell behind with me." Naomi Gao smiled at Lin Jueqiang, tears still in her eyes. "I'm much better now. Let's go."

Ethan looked around and saw Tyler Liu standing in the shadow of a tree not far behind him: "Wait a minute, let's go together!"

---Did he hear it?

Ethan frowned. Tyler Liu always gave him a bad impression. In addition, the matter of the antibody was too important. If it was leaked...

Just as he was struggling, Logan Zhao had already caught up with them from behind. When he ran to them, he kicked the zombie at Ethan's feet to vent his anger: "Where are the other two?"

"Blake Song and Clara Zhou are faster than us. They should be in the sports building in front." Naomi Gao said.

The four of them then walked forward.

The sports building was tall and gloomy in the night, with lights still on in a few rooms, probably the teachers' offices or something like that.

Blake Song stood at the foot of the building, looking up at the building. There were two zombies at his feet whose brains had been chopped through by a shovel. Clara Zhou was exhausted and hated the corpses of zombies, but she didn't dare to stay too far away from Blake Song, so she had to sit down on the steps. When she saw a figure walking towards here in the distance, she jumped up like a frightened bird: "Here they come again, zombies! Four!"

Blake Song looked back and said, "It's Ethan and the others."

After the continuous shocks, Clara Zhou's rationality was almost broken. She bit her gloves nervously and stared at the figures in front of her. It was not until the street lights illuminated the four people that her judgment slowly returned to her brain. She sat back on the steps in a daze.

The four of them had already arrived at the bottom of the sports building. Naomi Gao walked up to Clara Zhou and sat next to her, patting her hands to comfort her. However, Clara Zhou's eyes widened in horror, and she suddenly shrank back, muttering to herself and trembling.

Ethan couldn't help but feel a little sympathy for her. When he first met Clara Zhou, she was still a pretty normal girl and it seemed that she loved beauty. However, in just half an hour, she had been tortured by this horrible environment and became nervous and on the verge of a mental breakdown.

"Is there a lot of people in the sports building at night?" Blake Song asked.

"Quite a few. The swimming pool on the first floor is full of people from the swimming team training. If you go in now, it will definitely be full of zombies, like dumplings being dropped into a pot. The indoor basketball court on the second floor will not be closed until 9 o'clock. There are also many people in the fitness room, but there are very few people in the gym near the playground." Logan Zhao looked at the sports building with a crowbar, "I am from the sports department, and I know exactly what those guys are doing at this hour. If you go to the top floor now, you will probably catch a few wild couples with their pants taken off, haha."

Blake Song looked at his watch. It was 20:45. Counting from 20:40 when the music started, even for the slow-moving zombies, five minutes would be enough for them to walk from the South Dormitory Area Commercial Street to the square.

Ethan stood next to Blake Song, looked up at the sports building, and asked, "Are we still going to the Student Activity Center?"

"certainly."

"But there aren't many zombies here. If we find a room with an iron door to hide in, we should be able to survive until dawn." Ethan suggested hopefully.

"Are you just going to sit there and wait for death?" Blake Song glanced at him, with a hint of sarcasm in his eyes.

Ethan choked up and whispered back, "You saw it in the dormitory, the zombies couldn't break through the iron door, they were all locked in their rooms."

"---Be careful, they are getting stronger." Blake Song repeated the words on Naomi Gao's Easter egg. "If I had this plan originally, I completely gave up the idea after learning the warning of this Easter egg. Hiding may bring temporary comfort, but if you think you can survive by curling up in the sewer like a rat... Do you still remember the bell at 20:40? This is already a warning."

Ethan looked down at the bloodstains on the iron pipe in silence.

"No one likes meaningless killing, unless it's for survival." Blake Song said calmly, sighing inaudibly, "We don't know what 'becoming stronger' refers to, maybe intelligence, maybe strength, or special abilities, such as finding those who are hiding one by one and catching them in a jar. In order to guard against the worst possibility, we have to choose the most dangerous path from the beginning. Let's fight a guerrilla war and keep moving our base. This way, there may be a glimmer of hope."

"...I understand." Ethan nodded.

He had to trust Blake Song. He had been saved by him from the beginning. The zombies were saved once, and the antibodies were also saved once. He was not an ungrateful person. If it weren't for Blake Song, he might have died in the North Dormitory.

Although they had known each other for less than an hour, this inexplicable trust had always existed. Perhaps it was because Blake Song was the first living person he met on this cruel night.

He was like a lonely boat drifting in the vast ocean at night, and finally he saw a lighthouse in the distance, illuminating his way home.

"It's almost time, let's go to the south gate of the stadium." Blake Song said, looking at the time.

Several people had no objection.

The zombies along the way were in groups of three or four. Ethan, Blake Song and Logan Zhao worked together to easily carve out a bloody path. The three had different combat habits. Logan Zhao was extremely strong and fierce. He would punch through the zombie's brain almost every time and then kick it away. Ethan was used to fighting head-on. After he was able to control his emotions, he would usually stop after smashing the zombie's brain. Blake Song was the laziest one. Perhaps out of a desire to save energy, he often just swept the zombies away and did not seek to kill the opponent, as long as it didn't block the way.

The six people jogged out of the south gate of the stadium.

There is a wide road ahead, and opposite is the commercial street of the southern dormitory area. All shops are still open for business, with bright lights on. A few zombies that were not attracted by the bell can be seen stuck inside the doors or between the shelves.

The tempting aroma from the snack bar, the smell of barbecue drifted into Ethan's nose with the wind, making him swallow his saliva. But the stench and blood mixed in the aroma made his stomach churn again.

The night wind pushed a metal beverage can across the road, but it was blocked by a zombie's body and stopped in front of several people.

The zombie corpses on the ground were all beheaded by a single knife without exception, and were lying in all directions on the road, leaving a clear path of killing.

This inhuman fighting power and clean and efficient technique...Blake Song tightened his grip on the shovel.

He really came.

"Who...who is it?" Tyler Liu squeezed out a question from his throat, but he seemed to be choked with sobs and unable to speak.

The glass door of a snack bar was pushed open, and a handsome young man came out with a few skewers of roasted lamb in one hand and a long, shiny knife in the other. He greeted the people opposite him cheerfully:

"Yo, good evening, living people."
