After nightfall, the outside world was plunged into darkness. The candlelight in the room flickered, as if it would go out at the next moment. Because it was too cold, Avery huddled in the quilt, and could still hear the rustling sound of snow falling on the ground, which seemed to never stop.
Having slept for too long in the afternoon, Avery was now much more sober. He sat on the kang, holding a book in his hands, reading the words on it in the dim light.
Xiaohua and Xiaohei had both fallen asleep, and their even breathing sounds added a reassuring atmosphere to the room.
Avery read until about eleven o'clock, and felt his eyes were a little tired. Although he still didn't want to sleep, he still put down the book in his hand and planned to lie on the bed with his eyes closed. Thinking of this, Avery got up and extinguished the candle, then turned and walked to the bed, wanting to close the gap of the window a little bit so that he could sleep. But who knew that when Avery closed the window and looked outside, he was stunned by the scene outside. I saw that there were cracks like aurora in the sky outside. Compared with the daytime, these cracks were particularly eye-catching in the night sky and could not be ignored. In the cracks, there was a mountain mist-like mist pouring out, and it continued to spread towards the surrounding sky. What surprised Avery the most was a beam of light projected from the crack. The beam of light projected into the mountains and forests not far away, illuminating the mountains and forests like daylight.
On the path outside the forest, a group of people with indifferent expressions were slowly moving from Shuifu Village towards the light. Avery couldn't see the appearance of those people because they were too far away, but judging from their clothes, these people were most likely villagers from Shuifu Village.
