On Sunday, more than a month later, I returned to the apartment where I lived during college. Now it is where Max and Olivia live.

After graduation, Olivia faced a tougher employment challenge than I did. The best career options for French majors were to study abroad or work in Africa (due to colonial history, there was a large demand for French talents there). But in order to stay with Max, she chose neither path.
