Jason Zhong was driving on the road during the evening rush hour. The densely packed convoys of cars seemed to stretch to the horizon. The asphalt road outside the windshield was distorted by the heat.

"Where are you? Your dad will be home soon, hurry up!" I opened the car window to take a breath and heard my mother's voice on the phone.

"Got it." Jason Zhong frowned and hung up the phone. This was already the third one this afternoon. He didn't want to see the so-called father at all, but his mother insisted on urging him to go home, preventing him from picking up Alex Chu from get off work.

Feeling a little irritated for no reason, he looked at the time and saw that the show should have been recorded by now, so Jason Zhong couldn't help but make a phone call.

"Beep---beep---" The long waiting tone passed, and after one minute, no one answered, it turned into a rapid blind tone of "beep beep beep", which was frightening to hear.

Jason Zhong's eyebrows jumped. If Alex Chu was still recording the show, his assistant would answer the phone for him. If he had finished recording, the phone would be in his hand. Why didn't Alex Chu answer the phone?

Slowly regaining consciousness, he found himself on a cold, hard cement floor, surrounded by the stench of rotten wood and urine. Alex Chu tried to open his eyes, the light was dim, and the floor was piled with mottled paint mechanical parts, and some wood was scattered on the iron shelves covered with graffiti, looking like an old warehouse.

"Hey, you're awake!" A rough voice suddenly came from above. Alex Chu was startled and his bound body couldn't help but spasm. Such a conditioned reflex made it impossible for him to pretend to be unconscious.

With his hands tied behind his back, Alex Chu struggled to sit up with his legs bent, and looked up at the other person.

The man was very sturdy, with dark blue tattoos on his muscular arms. He was not very tall, probably less than 1.8 meters, and was wearing a large vest made of dark blue synthetic fabric. It was against the light, so I couldn't see his face clearly, I only knew he was bald.

Two more accomplices jumped out from behind the bald man. One of them grinned with his big yellow teeth baring his teeth and said, "This pretty boy looks better than on TV."

Clearly, the kidnappers knew who he was.

Alex Chu quickly thought about his situation. After recording the show today, he was suddenly dragged into a van in the underground parking lot of the TV station. Although he was in the entertainment industry, he didn't offend many people. The most likely reason was money.

"You know, I'm a public figure," Alex Chu's voice was pleasant, clear and magnetic. Out of professional habit, he spoke with pauses, so he sounded extremely calm. "I'm missing, and there must be a lot of commotion outside. How much money do you want? I'll send someone to send it right away. As long as you guarantee my safety, you can leave as soon as possible."

"Hmm..." A fist hit Alex Chu without warning, and he couldn't help but shrink his body and groan. The bald man clenched his fist and sneered, showing no interest in the benefits he said.

"The golden microphone of Shengshi TV has a really nice sound," Dahuangya walked up to Alex Chu, stretched out his hand to pinch his chin, looked him up and down, laughed, and glanced at his crotch, "Do you want to taste my brother's golden microphone?"

The malice hidden in these words made Alex Chu's heart ring with alarm.

"What on earth do you want to do?" Alex Chu asked them coldly, and while speaking he quickly observed the surroundings. It seemed to be dusk now, and through the narrow lattice window on the wall, he could see the knee-high weeds outside. There were three of them, and he was the only one, so it was obvious that he would not stand a chance of winning if he fought head-on. At this time, an old-fashioned mobile phone placed on the beer box came into Alex Chu's sight.

"Hey, let me take a few photos of you. Don't be nervous." Big Yellow Teeth said with a smile, and began to unbutton his shirt. The man who had been silent raised his camera and pointed the dark lens at him.

"Get out of here!" Alex Chu twisted his body to avoid Dahuangya's hand, and kept turning his wrist while struggling.

"You little brat, don't refuse a toast and then drink a forfeit!" The bald man obviously didn't have the patience and kicked Alex Chu in the chest. Alex Chu was kicked and slid quickly along the floor, hitting the old box behind him.

"Cough cough..." Alex Chu curled up his body and felt a sharp pain in his chest, unable to breathe. After the pain passed, he coughed twice.

The bald man strode over, his hard plastic slippers pinching his feet making a clacking sound that echoed in the empty warehouse, looking quite scary.

The bald man grabbed his collar and tore off his expensive shirt, revealing a white chest with purple marks from being beaten, which looked a bit cruel and beautiful. The shutter sound of a camera rang overhead, and the photographer had already dutifully set up his posture.

"Boss, let me do it, let me do it," Dahuangya swallowed his saliva, pushed the bald head aside, and moved in front of Alex Chu, "Come, show your little golden microphone to your brother... Ouch!"

Before he could finish his words, Alex Chu suddenly bumped into his nose, and the hard skull immediately broke the fragile nose bridge. Huang Ya instinctively lowered his head and covered his nose. In a flash, Alex Chu jumped up, picked up the old box at hand, and smashed it towards the bald man.

The bald man didn't expect that he would break free from the rope, and half a box of nails and screws hit his head and face.

Alex Chu rushed out without hesitation, grabbed the phone on the beer box, and rushed out through the window at the speed of a 100-meter sprint.

The glass on the old window was incomplete, but the old glass was not tempered glass and was very sharp, so Alex Chu was inevitably injured again. However, he could not care less now. The warehouse was surrounded by weeds, and in front of him was an endless cornfield. Alex Chu went into the cornfield without thinking.

The three people in the warehouse ran out immediately.

"Damn it, you dare to run!" The bald man was very angry and picked up a stick and chased after him.

It was already getting dark. This was the suburbs. Since there was land, there must be a village ahead. Alex Chu bent his body, letting the corn stalks hide his head, and ran forward desperately.

The bald man's heavy breathing could be heard from behind. Alex Chu often played obstacle courses at the TV station, so he was very flexible. The cornfield was unexpectedly large. Alex Chu ran for a long time, and was tripped by something. He fell to the ground and quickly shrank back, not daring to make a sound. He looked down and saw that the thing that tripped him was actually a stone monument painted black and yellow.

"Boss, where are the people?" Dahuangya's voice came from a distance.

"Damn it, he can't run far, get a flashlight." The bald man said angrily. It was already dark, there were no street lights, it was pitch black. It was difficult for them to find Alex Chu, and Alex Chu couldn't escape either.

The two men had obviously gone in the wrong direction and were walking further and further away. After making sure that he could no longer hear any sound, he took a deep breath and dialed the familiar phone number.

"Hello?" came an impatient voice. The Jason Zhong he knew was well-mannered. Even if he received a call from a stranger, he would answer the call politely, not like today, with no patience at all. "Who?"

Alex Chu almost shed tears when he heard the familiar voice: "I..."

"Alex Chu!" The person on the other end immediately recognized his voice and became excited. "Where are you?"

"I'm in a cornfield outside an old warehouse in the suburbs. I don't know the exact location, but there is a natural gas pipeline monument with '928' written on it." Alex Chu whispered, listening attentively to the movements around him.

"I understand. Don't be afraid. I'll find you right away." Jason Zhong's deep and steady voice successfully calmed his heart. Alex Chu hung up the phone and huddled deep in the cornfield.

The pain in his body was overwhelming. He gritted his teeth and dared not make a sound. He sat down on the ground and gathered some strength. The summer night was not cold. The sound of insects came one after another. It was too quiet around him. He dared not move for fear of making a noise. The pain in his chest became more and more severe, and he was dizzy and groggy in the darkness.

I don't know how long it took, but a rustling sound came from far away and got closer. "Boss, here!" Huang Ya's voice suddenly came from behind, and the light of a flashlight shone on his face.

Alex Chu jumped up in shock. He heard the light of car lights in the distance, so he ran towards the car without looking back.

"Help---" Alex Chu had no strength left. The bald man was only three steps away from him. This feeling was too terrible. He couldn't help but let out a terrified cry for help.

"Damn it, where are you running!" The bald man raised the stick in his hand and swung it at him.

Jason Zhong's SUV ran in front of the police car, rushed down the ramp, opened the door and ran into the field.

"Alex Chu!"

"Bang!"

Screams, gunshots, and the dull sound of a stick hitting bones all exploded in Alex Chu's ears at the same time. The expected pain did not come, and his body was tightly wrapped in a warm embrace, with warm liquid flowing into his neck.

Alex Chu turned his head stiffly and saw blood flowing down Jason Zhong's forehead, winding across his handsome face. Then, the arm that was holding him slowly lost its strength, and the tall body fell forward softly.
